About this venue

The Detroit Princess has been entertaining Detroit in its current location since 2005, docked just downriver from Hart Plaza, but it has quite an interesting history prior to that. It was originally named the Players Riverboat Casino II and was built in Jennings, Louisiana in 1993. It ran as a Merv Griffin establishment for a number of years, located on the Mississippi River in Metropolis, Illinois. Whether booking for 1 or 1000, CJC Cruises and the Detroit Princess can make every occasion a special occasion. We host weddings, corporate events, family reunions, holiday parties, birthdays, and so much more every cruise season.

No, all alcohol is available only through our venue.
A parking garage is located less than a block from our vessel, along the riverfront and next to a police station.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances and trained staff.
Set up, clean up, tables, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, linens, a freshly prepared formal dinner buffet, all staffing and service with service tip applied
Your ceremony and reception includes six to seven hours from start to finish, with one added hour for decor. Any additional time will be billed at $500 per half hour.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 40 days of your booked date, we’ll bill you the full amount of all estimated charges.
Our venue is located 27 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport. You can reach our venue by public transportation, private car, or a ride service.
