    We rented this venue for our wedding and an overnight stay, and it was hands down the worst decision we made throughout the entire planning process. From the moment we signed the contract, Jeanette made our lives a nightmare simply because we chose not to use her recommended vendors—who, conveniently, included her brother-in-law, she treated us with constant hostility. I planned my wedding myself with the help of family to stay within budget, and every time we asked to visit the property to plan decor or logistics, she gave us a hard time and treated us with nothing but attitude. She even told us that “not even wedding planners visit this often”—and we only visited three times total. After our first visit, we realized we had to photograph everything in detail because we likely wouldn’t be allowed back to properly plan. Jeanette constantly minimized my input, telling me to “relax” and “let my family handle it,” yet the day before the wedding, she refused to let them in to decorate unless I was physically there—despite us previously agreeing they could. She was openly rude to my family, and they felt awful knowing I had to deal with that on my wedding day. Mind you—we also paid for an overnight stay, yet she told us we couldn’t use the kitchen inside the house. How does that make any sense? To make matters worse, she repeatedly tried to claim we hadn’t paid her. She would ask my husband directly for payments, and I constantly had to send him screenshots of our receipts or the contract to show that either the payment was already made or wasn’t due yet. She even complained to my mother about a “missing payment,” which was completely false—it was actually a damage deposit that, per our agreement, was to be given as a check the day before the event. Because of her behavior, we even took full photo documentation of the house before and after our stay, just to protect ourselves from any false damage claims. The property looks beautiful in photos, but it is not well-maintained. Because it’s partially outdoors, the house had a strong musty, moldy smell from Florida’s humidity and frequent rain. The koi pond surrounding the house, while picturesque online, smelled like a neglected fish tank. Free-roaming peacocks left droppings everywhere, which she only removed them the day before the wedding. There was also a beautiful German Shepherd on the property, who sadly seemed neglected—thin, wearing a shock collar, and confined to small areas of the yard. It broke my heart to see. Jeanette was dishonest, unprofessional, and deeply unpleasant to work with. She made what should have been a beautiful and meaningful occasion extremely stressful and emotionally draining. I would never recommend doing business with her or this venue. No matter how pretty the place looks in photos, the experience was not worth the stress, the tension, or the disrespect.

    This year we hosted Alexandra B and her family who rented our venue and stayed overnight. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely problematic. Our overnight capacity is a maximum of 16 guests, but more than 30 individuals stayed on the property. In addition, several kitchen items disappeared, and various pieces of furniture, chinaware, glasses, and tables were damaged. Their contract specified a maximum of 100 attendees for an outdoor wedding. We charged them accordingly. However, when we inspected the tent they brought in without using any of our approved vendors, we counted 20 round tables with 10 chairs each table—indicating more than 200 guests. When asking her about the 200 guests when they only paid for 100, she was nasty and responded that "why do me care about the amount of people she invited when our venue is approved to host up to 300 people, we responded that the fee is in accordance to the amount of people and she lied to us but making the reservation for 100 people instead of 200 guests. She refused to pay for the extra overnight guests and the additional 100 people of the event. Throughout their stay, they were disrespectful to our staff, used vulgar language, and repeatedly refused to lower excessively loud music after 11 PM, despite local noise regulations and multiple requests. We are fully licensed as a short-term rental with the State of Florida and Miami-Dade County, and we are also a fully registered event venue. We follow all legal requirements and safety regulations. Unfortunately, these guests did not comply with any of our policies or with local laws. This is the kind of guests that nobody wants to host. The lied to us and they got away with everything including writing a bad review. We also advertised on other websites, i.e. Airbnb, Vrbo, etc, and we have more than 500 five star reviews. We do several non profit organizations events, corporate retreats and many other events, fortunately we had good experience with almost all of them with the exception of the above guests that was a complete nightmare. Based on the events described above, we believe the review in question is not only unfair but also inaccurate. It misrepresents the situation entirely and damages our reputation despite the fact that the issues arose from the guests’ own violations of our policies and agreements.

    Casa Tranquila was the best wedding venue we could have hoped for. From the moment we first reached out, their communication was excellent and positive, making us feel valued and special throughout the entire process. The venue itself was enormous, lush, and spacious, providing an enchanting atmosphere that made our special day even more memorable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt taken care of, contributing to an overall incredible experience. We cannot recommend Casa Tranquila highly enough for any couple looking for the perfect wedding venue.
