Katie Forbis | St. Louis-based, available anywhere | In my 18+ years of experience, I have found that the absolute best photos happen when couples are fully present in the moment - enjoying each other, their guests, and themselves. For this reason, I take mostly hands-off approach on wedding days. I do my best not to interfere with the events of the day, or direct the events of the day - instead, I document them as they unfold.

Over the years I have put in countless hours of hard work to develop my photography style, and I am always growing as an artist. I work best with couples that fully put their trust in my intuition, experience, vision, and creativity. In doing so, my couples can feel comfortable enough to let go, enjoy themselves, and be present on their wedding day, with the confidence and knowledge that I will provide them with beautiful, meaningful images. I believe that all love is valid, and I photograph couples from all walks of life regardless of race, age, religion, or sexual orientation.

Truly a Dream Wedding Photographer!
We truly couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer than Katie! She photographed both our welcome dinner and wedding day in May 2026, and every single image is incredible perfection - aesthetically beautiful and real. Her vision and style are truly art - She captured not just how everything looked, but how it felt. She genuinely exceeded all of our expectations! One of the things we loved most was how natural the entire experience was. We never felt like we were constantly posing or being pulled away from the moment. Katie has such a calm, warm presence that made us feel completely at ease, and she captured so many genuine, beautiful moments without ever making anything feel forced. We are honestly blown away by how amazing the photos are, along with everyone else we have shown them to! If you're looking for someone who creates timeless, artistic images that truly capture the essence of your wedding and loved ones, who is also such a pleasure to be around, we can't recommend Vein Vessel enough to anyone.

You Should Book Katie for Your Wedding
Katie and Mike photographed our wedding last summer, and did the most phenomenal job. Communication with them was super clear and seamless from the get-go. Katie was available and so professional and easy. They were super chill and easygoing during the rehearsal dinner and day of the wedding. It felt like we could ask them for whatever we needed - they were willing to do whatever they could to make the perfect day happen for us. They took the ideas we had -- for first look, or golden hour photos -- and added their aesthetic sense in a way that made us feel like our photos were out of a movie.They captured our vibe unbelievably well; the pictures were absolutely gorgeous and exceptionally intimate. Even the Instagram post Katie shared of our wedding with sneak peaks was to songs that mean a lot to us, and she didn't even know! We didn't get a videographer, and have no regrets about that because the pictures speak for themselves. Every single picture has a point of view and tells a story. Vein and Vessel could not have captured our story more accurately. We are forever grateful to Katie and Mike.

Incredible Photographer
Vein and Vessel was the perfect photographer for our wedding. Katie's communication style and presence is so warm, putting us at ease from our first interaction. The quality of her work is incredible - the photos she captured were both emotional and beautifully composed. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and was able to capture amazing, authentic moments throughout our day. We loved that she captured photos of us and our guests that felt natural, in the moment, and not posed. Best wedding photographer imaginable!
The beauty of Katie's photos speak for themselves--they are emotional, artistic, and eye-catching. But what you can't see in the photos is what an amazing person Katie is. She's exactly who you want to have around you on your wedding day. She is calm, easygoing, and confident, and her photos strike the perfect balance between artistic vision and candid spontaneity.
