About Rick Raasch Photography

Raasch.Photography

Wedding Photographer

Hey there, I'm Rick! I'm a wedding, family, and portrait photographer based in Long Beach, California, shooting across LA and Orange County since 2018. My work blends stylized editorial portraits with real, documentary moments depending on what the day calls for. My editing is clean and natural: accurate skin tones, true to life color, and timeless. I also love black and white for the moments that hit harder without color. No need to overthink it. Just be present, enjoy the day, and I'll handle everything else. I'd love to meet you!

What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about you, not just the photos. I pay attention. I see the moments other people miss. I know when to guide and when to disappear. My family and friends know me as fun, down-to-earth, and dependable. My clients, according to their reviews, would also say I pay attention to the details and make the whole experience enjoyable. Your wedding isn't a photoshoot. It's one of the most important days of your life, and being trusted with that is something I take seriously and can't believe I get to do.

    Wedding Photos

My husband and I are beyond grateful that we chose Rick to capture our wedding and engagement photos! He was such a pleasure to work with and is so incredibly organized, friendly, and helpful with posing and capturing our authentic selves. Our photos are breathtakingly beautiful and that comes from Rick's magic behind the camera. I recommend him to all my friends and will be a lifetime customer as he does family portraits too!

    Fantastic Experience

I could not be happier that Rick was our wedding photographer. From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience. He made my husband and I so comfortable posing in front of the camera and the finished pictures are beautiful. Really better than anything I could have hoped for. I would recommend Raasch Photography to anyone who wants to capture an important event.

My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4 weeks after your wedding. But, you can expect to receive a sneak peak gallery the day after your wedding so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
Depending on the package you choose—such as the Premiere Collection—a second photographer may be included. At times, I may also bring an assistant to help out but this will not affect your overall price.
Yes, every delivered image receives professional color correction and tonal refinement to ensure consistency, balance, and a timeless finish. For mid-to-close-up images during key moments, I apply light skin cleanup, subtle blemish removal, and distraction removal where appropriate. The goal is always enhancement without over-altering. You should look like yourself — just your best, most natural self. Each wedding collection also includes 10 advanced retouched images, which you may personally select after receiving your gallery. Additional advanced retouching beyond the included 10 images is available for a small fee.
Typically, couples book me at least 6 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame. The sooner you ask the more likely I am to be available.
Yes, I offer video services that include everything from documentary-style edits to cinematic highlight trailers. If you choose to add video, I’ll personally oversee my team of trusted videographers and editors to ensure every moment of your day is beautifully captured and professionally crafted while I take your photos.
Yes, I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, weather, and other factors.
In my 6 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my trusted colleagues or contracted shooters who will be able to take care of everything you need.
Absolutely! I shoot to two SD cards simultaneously throughout the day for added security. Once I’m home, I back up your photos in three places: locally to a hard drive, online to Dropbox, and I store the second SD card in a fireproof safe. These backups are maintained until your gallery is delivered and you’ve approved it.
