Michelle Whitley Photography

Principal/Owner

As a seasoned Washington D.C. and destination wedding photographer, it’s my absolute privilege to capture your love story with an expert eye and a familiar touch. I’m here to ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at every single touchpoint—so you can savor your celebration without worrying about the camera. If you’re seeking images that turn the fleeting into the forever—and a process you’ll fall fast in love with along the way—I have a feeling you’ll love what I have in store for you and yours.

I enjoy working with couples who are deeply in love and value the experience of their wedding day with their closest family and friends. My shooting style is classic and timeless with a bit of editorial flair. I use my surroundings and the given natural light to create emotive images unique to the energy of each relationship. It's important to me that we get to know each other so I can get on that level with you.

You can expect about 60 to 80 images per hour of photography. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 8-10 weeks after your wedding. Within a week after the wedding you'll receive a small sneak peek of images to share with family & friends.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
Typically, couples book me about 12-14 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.
In my 6 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant.
All final images are hand-edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services for an additional charge.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding. Don’t worry, this won’t cost you extra.
