Love, Lomax Studios is a premier wedding photography company based in Northern Virginia. Founded and led by Karisa Lomax, we proudly serve couples throughout the DC metro area, Tampa Bay Area, & beyond. Our guiding philosophy, "capturing today for the sake of tomorrow," reflects our commitment to intentional, thoughtful photography. Every photo is approached with care and purpose. Our aim is to offer couples a unique perspective, showcasing the beauty of their special day through detailed compositions & genuine emotions—while ensuring that the entire experience remains enjoyable & relaxed for everyone involved!
Karisa has often been described by past couples as "friendly, organized, an excellent coach in posing, professional, and easily makes others feel comfortable", among many other things! We get it--it is not easy to be in front of a camera, especially with some stranger snapping your photos on such an important day. That is why Karisa prides herself on connecting with her couples and guiding them through each step of the process to ensure they feel comfortable. No stiff poses here! Just all smiles, laughter, and love from here on out :) It'll feel as if you're hanging out with an old friend rather than posing for photos!

WE LOVE KARISA!
We literally could not imagine experiencing our wedding day without Karisa and her team by our sides. Karisa was not only a top-notch photographer, she was our hype woman, cheerleader, and support system throughout the entire day. Our wedding day was filled with immeasurable joy, the kind that felt impossible to capture or convey through anything other than experiencing it in real-time. But when we got our previews back (and this is just the previews!! and we later got a 1,000 image gallery!!), we were in absolute disbelief with how PERFECTLY Karisa captured our day. I had expressed to Karisa my wish to have my late father's presence documented through our wedding photography (we had framed portraits of him on a reserved chair at the ceremony, as well as a live painter including his likeness in her art), and she delivered in such a thoughtful and caring way. Karisa has given me a gift by capturing the unique way in which my dad was there with us on that day. If you don't hire Karisa, you're missing out BIG TIME. We would hire her 100 times over, and using her services was easily the best decision we made throughout wedding planning!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Karisa! She was absolutely incredible on our wedding day. She arrived right on time, kept everything running smoothly and on schedule, and had an amazing eye for detail—she didn’t miss a thing. More than that, she brought such a calm, confident presence that helped settle my nerves and made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Karisa guided us so naturally and captured every special moment beautifully. I truly felt like my best and most confident self with her behind the lens. Our photos are stunning and full of genuine emotion. Choosing Karisa was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
Karisa is the best!!
It can be so nerve-wracking to pick the right photographer for your special day. We wanted someone whose photo editing style we loved but also who we felt safe and comfortable with, and Karisa was the exact right choice for us! From start to finish, Karisa was kind, thoughtful, organized, and so relaxed, which is everything you want on your wedding day! We didn't do an engagement shoot with her, so we weren't sure what to expect, but she made us feel so natural and confident. It was like being photographed by a friend. She made sure to capture all of the details that were important to us, and the pictures are absolutely stunning! We had elderly members of our family who she was incredibly considerate of, and she was quick to make adjustments to our timeline to accommodate their needs without anyone needing to ask her to. At the end of the evening, she went over to each of our vendors and said hello, which shows how incredibly professional she is. Karisa will always be an important part of what made our day so special. We have loved working with her so much, and we can't recommend her enough!
The BEST!!!
Karisa is truly INCREDIBLE! We found her on instagram for our engagement photoshoot and instantly loved her! During the photoshoot she not only made us feel great and have fun but the photos were STUNNING! There was no doubt that we needed her to capture our wedding also… but we were moving out of state… so she packed her bags and booked a hotel! We are SO thankful for her flexibility to be there on our big day. Not only did she travel for our wedding but she found a second photographer local to us to satisfy the package we wanted! It truly felt like Karisa was a guest at our wedding and all of our family loved her. We never realized how important choosing a photographer was until we had Karisa’s happy smile by our sides the whole day. The wedding photos are everything we could have dreamed of and more. We can’t wait for Karisa capture more special moments in our life!
