About Koontz Photography

Koontz Photography

Owner, Operator

Please visit my website and fill out contact info. It costs me $20 to respond to your message on here. Photography has been a life-long passion of mine. With over 25 years behind the lens, I have been there during the days of film and experienced the evolution from film to digital. I am still constantly learning new things to get the best results for you. My purpose is to help you focus on the best parts of your life, your family, and your friends. I accomplish this by telling your story through photojournalistic photography, candid photos, and relaxed portraiture. Every wedding is a unique and fun experience that I enjoy being a part of.

Besides the technical skills that I've developed over time; I can relate to a client's needs on multiple levels. Being a wife, I’ve been in your shoes either planning a wedding or photos with my family, so I understand the stress of organizing it all. When you book with me, you are getting more than someone to “press a button”, you are investing in a friend. I will be there next to you every step of the way, from giving helpful tips, finding the best lighting, to helping you wrangle family, friends, and pets. Being a mother has taught me patience, organizational skills, and has helped me become a better problem solver while still being fun!

    Daniella is incredible!

If you're looking for a photographer who will make you laugh until your face hurts, expertly direct two people who have no idea what to do with their hands, and then casually risk life and limb for the shot... hire Daniella. She somehow managed to be equal parts hype woman, comedian, creative director, and ninja all day long. Daniella had us laughing through every portrait, gave incredibly natural direction, and made two awkward humans (and our dog) look like we belong in a wedding magazine. When our wedding timeline went sideways, she didn't miss a beat. Instead of cutting corners, Daniella worked seamlessly with our planner and other vendors, adapted on the fly, and still made sure we got every important moment - and every ridiculous Pinterest-inspired photo I had saved. I'm convinced she'd scale a mountain, climb into a bush, or levitate if that's what it took to get the perfect shot. We truly felt like she cared just as much about our wedding as we did. Our engagement photos and our wedding sneak-peek photos are everything we hoped for and more, and I’m so excited to see the full wedding gallery once it’s ready. We couldn't imagine our day without Daniella: 10/10, would let this woman boss me around in public again.

    LOVE Koontz Photography

Our wedding was planned in a few months. It was a non traditional 150 guest backyard DIY celebration…on Halloween. Things were crazy. I put a lot of effort into finding a photographer who I trusted to jump into an insane situation like mine. I’m so glad I found Koontz Photography. This girl knows her sh*t! She’s so very skilled in her craft and her personality is the cherry on top. Weddings can be stressful and fast paced and I wanted to be comfortable and actually have fun. We wanted someone alternative and queer friendly and we found that with Daniella. She had a portfolio of work that we absolutely adored, a price that fit our budget, and she was willing to work with our crazy timeline. Looking back now after our wedding and getting our photos back, I can 100% confidently say that Koontz Photography was the absolute best choice and I will recommend her to everyone I can. Thank you for making our special day even more special!

    Hire her!

My #1 favorite photographer! Always an absolute pleasure to work with Daniella! She brings your own personality/quirks out into each photograph with such ease. She also has a natural ability to find an artistic view of everything and anything.

    Professional, fun, creative.

Daniella did both our engagement and wedding photos and we are very happy with them! Daniella helps with the potential awkwardness of photo taking and makes it fun! She is very good about directing the different poses too; I’ve seen some photographs who don’t take the initiate to come up with different poses/ideas. She comes up with a lot of creative ideas. Daniella is very professional with good communication skills and always delivered our photos in a timely manner. I highly recommend her!

    Best Reliable Relaxing Photographer

Daniella was so awesome to be our photographer at our Wedding at Bridal Oaks Barn. She knew all the perfect poses to do and how to do it to get the best memory photos. After our wedding day, she was very fast at delivering the Majority of the pictures to us within the week. The best choice I made for our Wedding Photgrapher… Thank you!

Typically, couples book me about 8-12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
After culling out all excess photos (eye blinks, test shots, duplicates) all final selected images will be post-processed for color and composition to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.
I've partnered with PB&J Studios to offer my services through their studios in association with their videographers - and photo booths!
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 6-8 weeks after your wedding.
You can expect about 50 to 100 images per hour of photography. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, along with the name and email address for me to send my insurance binder to.
Due to the pandemic that the world is facing I'm sure this question comes up a lot in people's minds. In the event of an unforeseen illness, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
With years of experience, we know the typical wedding shots to get. What we do need to know is if there are any special events, people, or items that we might not know to photograph offhand. While I do not encourage attempting to recreate another person's photos. An inspiration board is always welcome. The most important list is a list of family names IN the groupings that you want to be taken.
A first look is especially good in the winter months when the light fades fast and we are rushing to get all of your photos taken before the sun goes down. Having a first look is a great way to calm any jitters, and to have a few moments away from all the commotion of the day to really see and talk to each other. It's a great way to get more bridal party photos done before the ceremony.
