Hi I'm Mia! We moved from Brooklyn to Brewster, after commuting to my little business on CC for years! Thrilled to be here full time and welcoming you to my studio: Cape Cod! I am an award winning photojournalist looking forward to talking with you. I can't wait to hear your story. I'll help you visualize your day, create your Timeline making sure we capture your day just as you've dreamed.. I focus on you & your guests- the expressions and emotions, the split second moments that capture your love and the love of everyone around you!

Home has been in many places, from Brooklyn to Moscow, San Francisco to Washington DC, Paris to Dakar. The Cape has always been my true home. Capturing moments of love is my passion. I'm truly honored to be your photographer to capture your day and do what I love best to do: photograph. My work has been featured in The New York Times and National Geographic, Time Magazine amongst others. As a documentary photographer and photojournalist, I will capture your wedding day- the big moments and the little ones- with grace and authenticity.

    Words can’t express how happy we are with our wedding photos by Cape Cod wedding photographer Mia Foster. We got married in our 40s and our parents have some significant health concerns and we don’t know how long they’ll be with us. This may be the last major family gathering with everyone, so the photos were even more important than usual. We shared our situation and our wishes with Mia and she got it, and us, right away. We told her that along with a few posed group shots, we wanted primarily candids of us with our family and friends. She did that and then some, managing to capture the essence of our loved ones so beautifully. We aren’t huge wedding planning people so even the concept of a “first look” was new to us - Mia went above and beyond both in the planning stage and on the wedding day, suggesting things we could consider that might make the day (and photos) more meaningful, but never pushing anything on us. Bottom line, she heard us and worked tirelessly to help create a magical wedding day for us, and a stunning set of shots that represents it. Her photographic eye, equipment, story-telling approach, and post-editing skills created very authentic shots that we’ll treasure for a lifetime; her experience as an award-winning photojournalist is very clear. We could not be more pleased with the result, or with her. We highly recommend her.

    Mia has a keen eye for life’s most precious moments, both big and small. She is aware of her surroundings, leveraging the time of day, weather, and natural beauty of the world around her to incorporate in your photos. She’ll pay attention to the placement of your hair, the flow of your dress, the positioning of your hands so that you don’t have to. When she says with excitement “I got the shot!”, know you have something gorgeous to look forward to. Set your expectations high, in the photos delivered to you, you will have bright eyes, glowing, even skin, and the odds and ends will be smoothed out. In 20,30, 40 years from now, you can look back at your beloved photos and get lost in the moments all over again. Her style isn’t one of overprocessing or creating artificial drama. She’ll capture the natural colors, shadows, highlights, texture, and movement of your best day ever in an authentic way. My favorite part of working with Mia isn’t her incredible talent, quality equipment, or editing skills, it’s her personality. Mia is that Aunt or family friend I always wished I had; kind, knowledgeable, and so very generous with her time. She sincerely wants to get to know you and your partner and is invested in your success not just today, but in the years to come. My best advice to anyone that works with Mia; ask for her advice and collaborate with her on your creative vision upfront. Months later, on your wedding day, when every guest and every vendor wants something moments of your time, Mia will advocate on your behalf, get “the shot” and then some, and ensure your dreams take flight. Marshall and I had the pleasure of working with Mia at our bridal shower and our wedding. We look forward to working with her on future projects for many years to come.
