About Amanda Peralta Photography

Amanda Peralta Photography

Editorial Documentary Photography

I am a fine-art photojournalist dedicated to capturing the ambiance and visceral emotion of the wedding day. With a BFA in Photography and a background as a Veteran, I provide a rare blend of artistic intentionality and disciplined professionalism. My work is built on storytelling—capturing the quiet drama of the "in-between" moments and the cinematic scale of the landscape. I create images that feel like modern artifacts: evocative, authentic, and styled with a high-fashion editorial edge.

My approach blends artistic grace with the discipline of a Veteran-owned business. With a BFA in Photography, I don’t just document events; I understand the composition and soul that make an image worthy of a museum wall. I treat every frame as a potential artifact. I lean into the drama of ambiance—capturing visceral emotion and cinematic moments that a standard checklist misses. By integrating Holga and Polaroid film, I provide a tactile, nostalgic grain that digital alone cannot replicate. I offer a calm, mission-focused presence, ensuring your creative vision is executed with precision, grace, and an editorial edge.

Most of my couples reach 12-18 months in advance to secure their date. Because I prioritize a fine art approach--which includes hand-developing analog film and a detailed photojournalistic edit--I only take a limited number of weddings per year. This ensures every gallery recieves my full artistic energy. I currently have a few select dates for the 2026 season; please inquire to see if your date is available.
For intimate weddings and elopements, I typically work solo to maintain a quiet photojournalistic presence. For larger celebrations (typically 100+ guests), I highly recommend adding a Second Photographer; this ensures we capture simultaneous moments, like both reactions during the first look and, provides a second artisitc perspective on your day.
Absolutely! Every photo you receive is personally hand-edited for color, light and, consistency, ensuring your gallery looks like a cohesive work of art. Something you'll be proud of to look at years later.
I will provide you with a sneak peek within 48 hours, so you have something to share on social media. After that it you will receive the rest of your story in 8 weeks via a curated gallery suite. Which will allow you to download, share, or order prints through my pro-lab partners.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
Yes. Amanda Peralta Photography is a registered LLC, and I carry full General Liability and Professional Equipment insurance. Many venues require this, and I am more than happy to provide a certificate of insurance to your coordinator upon request.
In my 9 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the extremely unlikely event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
I shoot with a hybrid kit designed for both reliability and art. I use professional full-frame Sony mirrorless digital bodies with dual card slots (instant back-ups as I shoot) alongside my character cameras--medium format Holgas and Polaroids for that distinct, nostalgic texture.
As an Idaho-based photographer, I am never surprised by unpredictable weather—I am prepared for it. My gear is professional-grade and weather-sealed, and I always carry clear, photography-friendly umbrellas. Some of the most editorial, museum-worthy moments happen in the unexpected. I embrace the rain, wind, or snow as a chance to capture the raw ambiance and drama that makes your story truly one-of-a-kind.
95% of my couples feel this way! My photojournalistic style is a perfect cure for camera shyness. Instead of stiff, forced posing, I use gentle directions--simple prompts that focus on your natural connection. I'll ask you to take a walk, I'll bust out my best jokes, or have you share a quiet moment while I work in the background. My goal is to capture the honest you that happens when you forget the camera is there. By the time we bring out the cameras you'll be completely at ease. We're telling your story not a perfect pose.
