I am a Liberian-American portrait & editorial photographer based in West Michigan. I specialize in creating work that encourages self-reflection and expression, promotes equitable action and showcases the black and brown identity and culture. My images are warm, quiet and bold. They bridge traditional divides between photojournalism, portraiture and fashion. My work is featured in magazines and online platforms like Vogue Greece, Grand Rapids Magazine, Grand Rapids Business Journal, ProPublica, and The Trace to name a few. My work has been part of numerous exhibitions locally and statewide.

My creativity sets me apart. I bring more of an editorial and international perspective to my approach of work. I see my work and the way that I approach my work with clients as a collaboration.     Couldnt say enough good things

    My husband and I got married in 2019. We booked Alfield for our engagement photos and our wedding photos. The price is so worth the quality and experience you get when working with Alfield. We literally got our photos back the same week as our wedding. All of them were edited, even a physical photo box and custom-created album. Very professional, timely, and easy to work with. No hassle and I never had to worry about any of the logistics related to photography. Alfield seemed to have everything down to a science and every shot was perfect. He could walk around the city and with ease find beautiful shots. He is an artist and an incredible one at that. He had a small team on the day of the wedding, in order to capture both sides of the pre-wedding moments. Whenever I have a need for a photographer, I immediately reach out to Alfield, and can't see that changing unless he becomes unavailable. I have since done professional headshots with him, which came out perfect and just how I envisioned. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend hiring Alfield for any wedding photography or ANY photo needs for that matter. I couldn't be happier with all the work he has done for us. We are lifelong customers.

In my 5+ years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only. I do however collaborate with a college of mine on Photo & Video Packages. please let me know if you're interested in that pricing as well.
Definitely all the best shots. All final images will be edited for color, black and white, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful.
Based on my packages it till either be 1 or 2 photographers. Sometimes, I’ll bring an assistant or interning photographer depending on the size of your wedding.
Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 1-2 weeks after your wedding. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
