Your Modern Ritual
I’m a native Texan, born and raised in Pflugerville. After heading west for college, I spent 17 years in California growing up, not learning to surf, getting a Master’s degree in cultural anthropology, and starting a family. I began officiating weddings in 2017, and moved back to my hometown in 2021 to re-root and keep the party going here in the Austin area! I love co-creating wedding ceremonies that reflect and affirm each couple’s uniqueness, love, and vision for their future.
I take great joy in making secular, nondenominational, interfaith and nontraditional weddings feel sacred. I love marrying LGBTQ couples, couples who want something fun/different/offbeat, couples who are blending families, etc. I also adore sweet and simple elopements. If love is the motivation, I am here for it! As an anthropologist, I love exploring how we form and nurture bonds that enrich and define our lives. As a spiritual person, I have profound reverence for the everyday magic that stirs when people who love each other gather with a common purpose: to witness, honor and celebrate life’s most precious and mystical moments together.

Julia was everything we desired in an officiant and more! She was so intentional in the way she got to know my husband and I and worked with us to build the most beautiful ceremony. My husband and I come from different cultures and religions, and Julia worked to seamlessly blend the two together to make both of our families feel seen and celebrated. She was such a gift and I cannot recommend her more!!!!

Great Energy, Wonderful Experience
I'm so grateful to have connected with Julia on Zola! From our first conversation, her personality was incredibly warm, friendly, and inviting. Julia had a clear, easygoing communication style and was organized throughout the planning process. On the day of our wedding, she was professional and well-spoken. Authentic and from the hear
I'm so glad I found out about Julia. I actually saw someone suggest her on Reddit and reached out to her about officiating our little elopement. Before speaking with her, I spoke with another officiant who a lot of people suggest in the Austin area but there was no connection, she just told me what she was going to do and how the ceremony would be without asking me what I wanted which did not vibe with me at all. Julia on the other hand really took her time to talk to me about what I wanted to do for my ceremony and she was very invested in making sure everything was ok with what she would say and how the ceremony would play out. She is very open minded and has really good suggestions as well for things you can add or different wording if you want to do something a little different than the traditional wedding vows. If you want an officiant who you can have a connection with and speaks from the heart I would 1000% suggest reaching out to Julia. Trust me you will not regret it. She really made our little ceremony special.

Julia is amazing!
Julia was a delight to work wit!. We had a non-religious, short ceremony, and she was able to customize it for us exactly how we wanted it. She looked professional and talked in a clear, calm manner which is important for an officiant! We are so happy we chose Julia to be our officiant for the biggest day in our lives. Would recommend to all the couples out there in the Austin area. Thinking back on our wedding day fills us with joy and we can’t thank Julia enough that she was a part of making it so perfect.

A fantastic officiant
Julia did a fantastic job officiating our wedding! She completely matched our energy and helped to create the exact tone of the ceremony that we had hoped for (lighthearted but meaningful). We hired her just a few weeks before our wedding, but she managed to make it all work in time. When we met, she really got to the root of who we are, what are values are, and what we wanted to convey in our ceremony. She gave us a lot of options for the ceremony so we could mix and match and add or take away the parts that we liked the best. She was totally open to our questions and helped guide us in tailoring the ceremony to our taste which was a huge relief since there were 10 million other things to think about before the wedding! I'd recommend her a million times over. She was punctual, professional and fun and also took care of mailing in our license which was wonderful.
