Hello and congratulations!! I absolutely LOVE officiating weddings! With over 30 years and 2,100 weddings officiated I want to do more. For the last 12 years my fulltime "job" is marrying couples! I feel so honored that I get to do this for a living!!

For some wedding officiants this is a side hustle or something they do on the weekends. I create beautiful, memorable ceremonies fulltime! This is the only thing I do and I LOVE it!! You will get tons of tips, ideas, and suggestions from over 2,100 weddings I have personally created and officiated. I collaborate with all my couples to build your dream ceremony.

    Wonderful officiant!

    From our first conversation with Austin Area Weddings, we knew we had found the right officiant for our day. He responded quickly to our questions and made the entire process feel stress-free, which meant so much during the planning stages, even helping us navigate the license process. What really stood out was how genuine and personable he was—our guests actually asked how we knew him because he felt like an old friend! His passion for what he does is obvious, and he brought such care and attention to every detail of our ceremony.     Perfect officiant

    We were married this past April, and James Simmons really made our special day come together. He was fantastic to work with and just oozes experience and geniality. The resources and guidance he provided was invaluable in helping us put together our plan for the ceremony, and in bringing it to fruition. Communication was always super fast, and any questions or uncertainty we had he cleared up immediately. He’s a genuinely nice person and we got along great with him! We thought he was so funny and very sweet! :) On the day of, he ran the ceremony like an orchestra conductor - and knew when to step out of the way for the photos! Honestly, our ceremony couldn’t have been any better than it was and Rev Simmons was a critical part of that. He had an amazing speaking voice as well, and several guests commented on how well he did. We recommend him to anyone and everyone who is looking for an officiant!

    James was amazing!!!

    If you're looking for an officiant who will elevate your ceremony from start to finish, look no further than James. He has a genuine gift with words and a presence that immediately draws you in. Multiple guests came up to us after the ceremony to say that James had, hands down, the best voice and delivery they'd ever heard at a wedding — and that's not something you hear every day. He brought warmth, intention, and a natural flow to our ceremony that made every word land exactly the way it should. We are so grateful to have had James be a part of our special day.
