Wedding Officiant

Rev. Chris Yaw celebrates God's gift of marriage through personalized wedding ceremonies. He provides comprehensive preparation including rehearsal and pre-marital counseling sessions to help couples prepare not just for their wedding, but for their marriage.

I am more interested in your marriage than your wedding. I know that may sound off-putting! And don't worry, I do good weddings. But the couples who choose me want more than a warm M/C. They want an experienced pastor who will take the time to get to know them. And who can help them learn and grow in their relationship and help it last a lifetime. I help people for whom faith is important, even if they don't share the same religious background. My aim is to help couples better see God at work in their lives and their relationship. Includes the ceremony, rehearsal, and pre-marital counseling sessions. Four meetings before the ceremony via Zoom and/or in person, ceremony design, and marriage license signing.

We will meet 4 times, including your rehearsal, before the ceremony. We can meet via Zoom and/or in person. You are welcome to meet me at my church in Metro Detroit and in most cases I am happy to travel to you. Sessions cover introductions and expectations, honing your relationship through a marriage inventory, relationship dynamics and ceremony design including music selection and choreography, and your rehearsal where we sign the marriage license.
Travel fee when warranted, $600/day plus travel expenses. In most cases I am happy to travel to you.
I have relationships with clergy colleagues that ensure that if medical issues or another emergency should arise and I am unable to perform your ceremony, your wedding is guaranteed to have an officiant.
