Hey, y’all! I’m Chase, a museum curator, storyteller, and wedding officiant based in New Orleans, Louisiana. I spend my days thinking about stories, how we tell them, and why certain moments stay with us. I believe a wedding ceremony deserves that same care. Your relationship has a story, and your ceremony is a chance to tell it in front of the people who matter most. My approach is simple. Your ceremony should sound like you and not like some script pulled from a "how-to" officiant guide. I work with each couple to understand what matters to them, what they want their guests to feel, and what kind of moment they want to create. Let's tell your story and make it official!

I make a living telling stories. My goal is to make history memorable and meaningful, and I believe your wedding ceremony deserves that same thoughtfulness. A wedding is a little piece of history in the making, and I want to help tell your story in a way that feels personal and purposeful to those who have helped shape it the most. I want you to feel seen and understood and for your guests to feel like they've witnessed something moving and real. Your story, told well - that is what I am all about.

    Best intimate, personalized wedding ceremony!

    My daughter choose “For the Record Ceremonies” to serve as the officiant for her 2026 Spring wedding because of Chase Tomlin’s unique ability to tailor the ceremony to personally reflect both her and her fiancé’s story. Chase did a wonderful job telling the story of their courtship during the ceremony. In fact, numerous wedding guests commented that they really enjoyed the personal nature of the ceremony. Chase was wonderful to work with and was extremely helpful working with the wedding couple to develop the ceremony of their dreams. I highly recommend using “For the Record Ceremonies” for your upcoming nuptials.

    Chase was wonderful!

    Working with Chase was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Chase took the time to understand what we wanted to say and turned our story into something eloquent and beautiful to share with our loved ones that had the whole wedding laughing and crying during the speech. He was really easy to get along with and you can tell he truly enjoys doing this and connecting with the couple. I had a vision I wanted brought to life for the ceremony and he did exactly that. I was very particular about the timing of certain parts of the reading and he completely nailed it! We can't recommend him enough!

New Orleans and the surrounding areas (Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes) are home base, but I’m happy to consider a little road trip for the right ceremony. Wherever you’re planning to tie the knot, reach out and tell me what you have in mind. We can talk through the distance, timing, and any additional travel costs before making plans.
As long as they need to be—and no longer than they ought to be! Some couples want a short, sweet ceremony, while others want more time for stories, readings, traditions, and personal touches. We’ll figure out what feels right for you and build the ceremony around it.
Absolutely. That’s a big part of what I’m here for! I’ll work with you to write a ceremony that reflects your relationship, your personalities, and what matters most to you. You’ll have a say in the process, of course, and we’ll make adjustments along the way until it feels right.
Please do! If you want to write your own vows, I’ll help make sure they fit naturally into the ceremony. If you’re not quite sure what to say, that’s okay, too. I can offer prompts, ideas, and a little guidance to help you find the words. And if traditional vows are more your style, we can do that instead.
I am happy to accommodate requests for rehearsal participation (and even take photos to give you raw images of the celebration) for an additional $95 fee.
