Hi, I’m Carla, a legally authorized wedding officiant based in the Washington D.C. area. I’m all about creating moments that feel genuine and joyful. While I primarily serve the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, I’m always up for an adventure. I’m passport ready and happy to travel wherever love takes you. For couples coming from out of town, I can help set up your elopement, connect you with trusted local vendors, and guide you through the marriage license process so everything feels smooth and stress-free.

I’m not just here to officiate. I’m here to honor your version of love. Every couple I work with has a different story, and that’s what makes this work so beautiful. I take the time to listen, to learn what matters to you, and to craft a ceremony that feels honest, joyful, and true to who you are. I work with all kinds of couples: spiritual, non-religious, interfaith, LGBTQ+, multicultural. I’ve had the joy of honoring many different traditions and ways of celebrating love. Whether you're blending beliefs or creating your own path, I’ll meet you with openness and care. I also offer bilingual ceremonies in English and Portuguese.

I worked with Carla on two weddings. I enjoyed her easy going professionalism and felt at ease with her and her wedding planning team. They are the best in the DMV and I’m happy that they wanted me to share my skills. She was easy to schedule time with to discuss any questions and share my concerns. I especially liked that she met with me and told me the details of the couple, the layout of the location and where the best vantage points were to ensure that I captured the key moments during the ceremony. She also walked me around the area with the couple so that we could all get to know each other and form a good connection. During the ceremony, she gave good cues that were discreet and helpful to ensure that I was well positioned. Afterwards, she reached out to confirm expected dates and payment for my services.
