Hello and welcome; it's lovely to meet you! My name is Rebecca, and I am the owner and founder of The Makeup Effect. ​ The Makeup Effect encompasses everything you want makeup to be. There are no limits, no boundaries, no rules. Makeup can be subtle, bewitching, unruly, romantic, playful… it’s truly an expression of YOU.

With over 13 years of professional experience, I’m stoked to be your go-to makeup artist. Not only do I love to dish about my favorite products and makeup hacks, but everything in my professional makeup kit is cruelty-free and vegan. This means I don't use anything that's been tested on an animal or contains funky animal byproducts. (I've got you covered!) I'm beyond passionate about what I do, and together we'll collaborate on whatever makeup look you're dreaming up. Whether it's a deb ball, your "big day," or a Friday, I'm here to help bring your makeup ideas to life.

Bridal Pampering

Price$195

Description

This package is for the bride only, and includes a mini facial, full makeup application, and application of temporary false lashes. Session usually lasts about an hour. Price includes round trip travel within 60 miles of 75082 zip code.

Bride and up to 5 Guests

Price$270

Description

This package ranges from $270-$650 depending on the total number of additional guests. Services includes a full face of makeup, a mini facial, and lashes for the bride, along with a full face of makeup and lashes for up to 5 additional guests. Bride (45-60mins): $175 Cost Per Guest (30-40mins): $95 Travel: TBD (First 60 miles round trip are included)

Bride and 6+ Guests

Description

This package starts at $875 assuming 6 guests and final costs will vary depending on the final number of additional guests. This package includes a full face of makeup, a mini facial, and lashes for the bride, along with a full face of makeup and lashes for 6 or more additional guests. Bride (45-60mins): $165 Cost Per Guest (30-40mins): $90 Additional Artist: $175 Travel: TBD (First 60 miles round trip are included)

As an animal lover and a beauty fanatic, it's my mission to find the best professional products on the market that don’t test on animals. Everything I use is cruelty-free and vegan, which means no animals were harmed in the making of my favorite products.
I book up fairly quickly, especially during wedding season. The best bet is to book a year out, but ideally no sooner than 6-5 months out from your wedding. It never hurts to ask though, even if you're a week out!
For wedding day services (unless requested otherwise) I will always come to your location. The first 60 miles round trip is included. Travel fees outside of that will be discussed upon contract signing. For all other services, including trial runs, engagement photos, bridal photos, rehearsal dinners, etc, I offer on-location pricing.
You bet! In fact, it’s ideal for all members of the bridal party to have their makeup professionally done. The bridal party’s makeup should be cohesive and complement the bride’s aesthetic, as well as the general color scheme of the wedding. ​
It depends. Some brides require their party to have their hair and makeup done professionally. If that’s the case, it would be most appropriate for the bride to cover the costs. However, if you are opening up the opportunity to your party as a suggestion but not a requirement, it’s not expected that you would cover those costs.
Everything will be outlined in our contract and there will be no surprises. The items that typically get invoiced after the wedding are either for parking expenses, or if the services extend beyond the agreed upon timeframe.
After about 7-8 hours you might need a minor touch up, likely to blot down any shine, refresh your lip, and maybe sweep a little more color on your cheeks. During your trial run, we’ll cover what touch up items you might want to keep on hand. If you’d feel most comfortable having me stay for any touch up needs, I do offer these services and would be happy to help.
There’s a delicate balance between natural makeup, and makeup that will show up in photos. We might need to take you slightly outside of your comfort zone, but I promise it won’t feel excessive and you will feel like yourself. This is exactly why trial runs are so important. There will be no surprises, and we’ll have plenty of time to make sure your look is exactly what you want.
Absolutely! Makeup is for everyone. ​Whatever complexion needs you have, I’ve got you covered. I offer partial-face applications that include skin prep, color correcting, concealing, and brow grooming. This will ensure a fresh finish that looks like you.
The short answer is no. The long answer is that after using airbrush for a few years, I found that I prefer traditional skin correction mediums (cream & liquid foundations, powder foundations, concealers, etc.) because they allow for more customizable options pertaining to coverage, color, texture, and finish. For these reasons, I do not offer airbrushing services.
Yes, a signed bridal contract and a 30% retainer from the total amount due on your wedding day are required in order to reserve your date. I won’t be able to hold your date until the contract has been signed and the retainer has been paid. The retainer will be put towards your final bill and it is non-refundable and non-transferable. ​
