I am a nature-loving mother of 2 humans and 2 dogs and have lived in the Carolinas my whole life. I’ve been a floral designer for over 25 years and have traveled all over the world to do flowers. I love getting to know my clients and creating something beautiful and unique for their special day and following their life’s journey.

I think what sets us apart are relationships that we build throughout the planning process. Not only does the relationship between client and designer become more like friend/family, but the alliance we have created with our local flower farms and wholesalers are second to none. We are transparent about the flower process and allow you to be as involved or as removed from the process as you would like to be.

What's Up Buttercup did the most beautiful flowers for my sister's wedding! Working with her to execute her floral vision was so easy and the results were stunning. I've also worked with What's Up Buttercup for corporate event-flowers--stunning! Melissa & her team are definitely the best florists in the Charlotte-area.

The best!!
Melissa did the flowers for my wedding and I couldn't be happier. The arrangements were absolutely gorgeous — exactly what I'd envisioned and even more beautiful in person. She listened to what I wanted, offered great suggestions, and the bouquets, centerpieces, and ceremony florals all came together perfectly. Melissa is incredibly talented and such a pleasure to work with. If you're looking for a florist who truly cares and delivers stunning work, I can't recommend her enough!
