BEST EVER
I have used several caterers in the past and the Event Advantage was amazing on so many levels!!! Catering and dj services were so memorable and delicious. Our wedding could not have been more perfect And Louis was such a perfect DJ and so much fun!!!

Not the Experience We Expected
Overall, our wedding day was wonderful, but unfortunately this vendor was the biggest disappointment of the entire experience. The most frustrating part was communication. Throughout the planning process, it was very difficult to get clear responses, and on the wedding day he repeatedly approached us with questions that had already been answered in the detailed planning packet he provided. We spent a significant amount of time filling out that information beforehand, so it was frustrating to be pulled aside throughout the day (5 minutes before walking down the aisle, during our bride/groom photos, while trying to eat dinner..etc) to clarify details that had already been discussed. It left us feeling like our requests and plans had not been thoroughly reviewed. We were also disappointed that several of our specific requests were not respected. For example, we had clearly stated that we did not want to smash cake in each other’s faces during the cake cutting. Despite this, he attempted to get our guests to cheer us on and encourage it. While this may seem like a small thing, it was something we had specifically communicated about 5 minutes prior to him. As a DJ, he did keep people on the dance floor, but we were disappointed that very little music from the playlist we carefully created was actually played. We spent time selecting songs that were meaningful to us and were looking forward to hearing them throughout the evening. Instead, many of those songs never played at all. There were also several noticeable issues with the mixing, including scratches, awkward pauses, and transitions that felt unpolished. We also booked the photo booth through him. To operate it, he brought his young daughter, which was awkward given that our wedding was explicitly adults-only. We were not aware he was bringing his daughter to our wedding. Even more disappointing, when we received the photo booth gallery afterward, a surprising number of the photos were simply of his daughter rather than our guests. Since we paid for the service to capture memories of our family and friends, that felt highly unprofessional. The catering itself was good, and guests seemed to enjoy the food. However, one of the reasons we chose this vendor was because we were extremely impressed during our tasting. Unfortunately, the food served on our wedding day did not taste the same as what we were served at the trial. The quality was still acceptable, but it was noticeably different and not nearly as impressive as what led us to book in the first place. While the day itself was still beautiful and our guests had a great time, we were disappointed by the overall experience. Between the communication issues, disregard for some of our requests, DJ performance, photo booth concerns, and inconsistency between the tasting and wedding-day meal, we left feeling that expectations were not met. I can’t help but wonder if trying to simultaneously manage catering, DJ services, and photo booth operations stretched things too thin. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not choose these services again or recommend them.

We understand that wedding planning can be incredibly stressful, and because we manage over 250 weddings a year, our primary goal is always to protect the couple's vision. When major changes happen in real time, a professional DJ must communicate directly with the bride and groom to confirm their wishes, rather than taking orders from third parties. During this event, several major itinerary adjustments occurred on the fly. The bridal party initially requested to be excluded from the grand entrance, but later changed their minds. Additionally, the entrance songs were changed three times just five minutes before the introduction. Checking in with you to confirm these changes before proceeding was not a lack of professionalism—it was necessary communication to ensure you got exactly what you wanted. Regarding specific details of the evening:The Cake Cutting: We never encourage behavior like cake smashing. We simply engaged in light, fun banter to keep the energy up, fully aligning with your explicit request for a lively, high-personality wedding.Song Requests: You specifically authorized us to take guest requests. When your own parents and guests asked for songs, we honored those requests as promised. Had you requested a strict "no requests" policy, we would have strictly followed it.Going Above and Beyond: Our team cares deeply about our clients. On this hot day, I personally brought drinks to the bridal party during photos so the shoot could finish faster and more comfortably. Furthermore, although our catering contract only covered one round of table bussing, I personally stepped in to clear tables throughout the night to make your post-event cleanup much easier. We received overwhelming praise and compliments from your guests and vendors throughout the evening for our work both as your DJ and chef. It is disheartening to receive a two-star review after dedicating 2000% of our energy to your day, but we remain proud of the comprehensive, attentive service we provided. We wish you both the very best.

Great food & experience!
From our first visit with Event Advantage Catering, we knew we had found the right team for our wedding. They were responsive and helpful throughout the planning process, answering every question with ease. On the day of our wedding, their service was seamless—the staff worked quietly in the background, making sure everything ran perfectly without getting in our way. The food was outstanding, and the desserts were honestly some of the best we've ever tasted. What impressed us most was how hardworking and efficient the entire team was, handling everything with such ease that our guests never had to worry about a thing. We'd absolutely recommend Event Advantage Catering to any couple looking for caterers who truly care about making their day special.

Horrible food and blindsided with tasting fee
This company is lacking professionalism and quality. We chatted with Louis and Caitlin over the phone to set up a tasting, talked about the menu and the items we wanted to try. We get to the tasting and neither Louis or Caitlin were on site. And the food served wasn’t what we agreed upon or worth the blindsided tasting fee of 100! The tasting fee wasn’t mentioned until after the service. The tri tip was grey and chewy, the pasta was bland and the sauce not mixed well. The chicken was over cooked. It wasn’t a great experience at all! Honestly the most horrible meal I’ve ever had. I can’t believe they are the Best of Zola.

Hi and thank you for your input. Firstly, Caitlin does not do tastings. We have a team that do and we had stated that on the day that you requested that Lou could not attend and you were fine with that. We state, Email and text that there is a $100 tasting fee that once booked will be credited the fee is credited to your account making the tasting....FREE. As well, most caterers' require 50% down vs we only ask for $250 to book and lock in your date. Also many charge $200 for the tasting and only allow 2 guests, where our tastings are $100 and you can bring 4 guests. We also do 2 Entrees, 4 sides and 4 appetizers. Typically, this meal for 4 would be $200. We discussed with the 2 employees that served you and they all got raving reviews of the food from you, so to later post a negative review is interesting. Please note our following awards and that I was the personal Chef to Arnold Schwarzenegger. We also won 2026 the Greatest of all Time from Wedding Pro. Amazing Company
Event Advantage Catering was an amazing part of our wedding day! Being able to combine catering and DJ services meant less stress for us in the lead up to the big day and we loved having something lowkey on our menu. The two employees at our event were efficient, considerate, and knowledgeable. The DJ, Tony, made sure we didn't miss out on appetizers and brought us water while we were getting pictures taken. We made a few calls ahead of the day to get all the details right and it ended up being such an amazing part of the night, our friends took business cards for their own upcoming events too! I would definitely reccomend them to anyone in the area!
