Carmela Marie has proudly built a reputation for excellence in off premises catering for more than 35 years. From weddings to milestone celebrations, our packages are designed to make your event seamless and stress-free. Every menu can be customized to fit your tastes and budget. Our most popular menu, Signature Selection Table Station, begins at just $63 per guest and includes a cocktail hour, salad station, buffet station, carving station, and dessert—plus linens and a wedding cake. We also provide China and glassware, so you’ll have fewer rentals to worry about. We’d love to serve you!

Our prices are reasonable, yet our selection is endless thanks to the buying power and trusted vendor access of our parent company, Tops Marketplace. Behind every event is a dedicated team of more than 16 professionals, committed to designing custom menus, preparing dishes with the freshest seasonal ingredients, and delivering exceptional service to you and your guests.


Sample catered weddings

Nicole and Jacob elevated their cocktail hour with tenderloin crostini, accompanied by two hand-passed appetizers: caprese skewers and asparagus tips wrapped in prosciutto. For the salad station, they chose the recommended antipasto salad, offering a fresh and flavorful start. At the buffet station, which featured pasta, chicken, fish, vegetables, and potatoes, they selected the vibrant vegetable medley, adding both color and variety for their guests. They received the most complements on the carving station which included sirloin steak with a garlic butter and roast turkey breast. Included in their Signature Selection Table Station package were white linen guest tablecloths and white napkins. They chose black fitted tablecloths for the food stations, creating a stylish contrast with the guest tables. They upgraded to chinaware for their appetizer and dinner plates, along with water goblets, enhancing the overall presentation. Dinner menu cards were displayed at each table, and tent cards at the food stations highlighted gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options for guests. For dessert, they opted for the standard package, which included mousse shooters, decorative cupcakes, bite size cheesecakes, to mention a few - plus- a wedding cake. They upgraded to a 3-tier rustic design, perfectly complementing their venue and adding an elegant finishing touch to the celebration.

    Amazing to work with!

    We had an absolutely incredible experience working with this Carmela Marie. We set up a tasting to try the foods we were envisioning for our wedding, and everything was amazing from the very beginning. At the tasting, the food exceeded our expectations and gave us so much confidence going into the big day. Janalynne was extremely thorough, helpful, and clearly very experienced. Leading up to the wedding, she asked all the right questions and made the entire planning process easy and organized. She was so easy to work with, as was the chef, and the entire staff was kind, professional, and attentive. I also had dietary restrictions (dairy-free, gluten free, nut free), and they were very accommodating and made sure I had delicious options without ever feeling limited or left out. On the wedding day, the food was absolutely delicious. We had numerous guests come up to us saying it was some of the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The cocktail hour food was a huge hit, especially the cocktail meatballs—everyone raved about them. From a bride’s perspective, everything felt completely seamless. The team worked quickly and efficiently behind the scenes, keeping everything clean and running smoothly without us ever having to think about it. We are so grateful for how easy and perfect they made the experience! Definitely use them!!!

    Very Accommodating and Allergy Friendly

    I hired Carmela Marie to cater my wedding. A huge thank-you to John, Betsy, and Janalynne. Janalynne was amazing to work with—she helped me create a menu that accommodated all of our guests’ food allergies and intolerances, and she handled every last-minute change with such care and professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious! Guests couldn’t stop raving about the appetizers—especially the chicken and beef teriyaki skewers—and there were plenty of dessert options for everyone to enjoy. Even the cake was a hit! Highly recommend Carmela Marie for anyone looking for exceptional food and service.

    Carmela Marie was an incredible wedding caterer for our special day. From the very beginning, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating, working closely with us to customize the perfect menu. On the day of, their team delivered amazing service and presentation - the food was absolutely delicious and our guests raved about it being some of the best wedding food they had ever had. We did a stations buffet style and the variety was fantastic, with an incredible dessert bar that our guests loved. We were so impressed that we even ordered lunch from them before the wedding, which was equally great.     Carmela Marie was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding catering. Yes! We offer complimentary cake slicing for your guests. Typically, we cut the cake as needed and place slices on the dessert station. If you prefer, we can also cut and serve the cake directly to each guest. Additionally, we’ll save and wrap the top tier of your cake for you to enjoy on your first wedding anniversary.
Each of our sample menus has its own minimum, but we’re happy to be flexible. To make things easy, we offer several service options—pick-up, delivery, delivery with set-up, or full service—depending on what works best for your event.
Yes! We offer a complimentary tasting for two guests. Each additional guest is $30, and you’re welcome to take any remaining food home. During your tasting, you’ll enjoy: One of our chicken entrées A beef entrée Two vegetables Two potato dishes A selection of our desserts You’ll also have the chance to meet with one of our chefs and our event manager, who will guide you through the experience. We would be honored to make your wedding day as special and memorable as possible. We take pride in crafting customized menus tailored to your specific needs and recognize that every event is unique.
Our first meeting is typically your complimentary tasting. If you decide to book with us, we’ll provide a contract for your review. About 12 weeks prior to your wedding, we’ll connect to review your menu selections, your estimated guest count, and, of course, your dream wedding cake. We love when couples share inspiration photos, which we’ll pass along to our pastry chef so they can reach out directly to discuss your design. Then, about 4–5 weeks before your wedding, we’ll finalize your menu, timeline, and other important details. We’re happy to meet in person, over Zoom, or by phone—whatever works best for you.
Along with the linen provided in most of our packages, we are pleased to offer elegant chinaware and glassware to further elevate your dining experience. Each item is available for $1 per person, per piece, with selections including champagne flutes, wine glasses, water goblets, appetizer plates, dinner plates, and coffee mugs. At this time, we do not coordinate additional rental items.
We cater throughout most of the state of Connecticut, with a particular focus on events within a one-hour drive—or approximately 55 miles—from our location in Plantsville, whichever distance is shorter.
We recommend booking 9–12 months before your wedding. If your date falls in May, June, September, or October—our most popular months for weddings—we suggest booking up to 18 months in advance to secure your preferred date.
Yes! Our Executive Chef is experienced in guiding menu modifications to accommodate guests with food sensitivities and allergies. We can also prepare certain dishes to be gluten-free or vegan. Our menu clearly identifies dishes that are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan. At your wedding, each item will be labeled on the dinner menu cards and at the food stations.
