What do you wear?

By default, I will always been in a black button-up shirt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. My goal is to blend into the background and not be a distraction on your big day. However, as a "special touch," I do my best to match my tie to your wedding colors, so please don't forget to let me know what those are! And of course, if you'd like me to wear something different, just ask and I'll do my best to accommodate any reasonable request!

Do you take music requests?

Accepted Answer

That's up to you! Some couples love that I offer a "Text Your Request" feature as long as I have WiFi or cell signal at the venue - so people can request music from their seats or the dance floor, without needing to yell over my speakers. However, I also respect couples' wishes to keep the playlist "locked down" to our agreed-upon playlist or genre. And if we do agree to take requests, you always have "Veto Power" on any songs that you absolutely DO NOT want played. Let's chat about this during one of our unlimited planning sessions!

Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Accepted Answer

I sure do! If the entire event is in one location, it's easy to keep the music going throughout. But even if your ceremony or cocktail hour are in a separate location, I can bring a second set of speakers and play music to them wirelessly for a discreet, classy setup. Of course, a wireless microphone is also available to use for announcements or ceremony proceedings. We'll go over everything you need in your complimentary planning packet and unlimited virtual or in-person meetings!

Are you fully insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I am covered for up to $1 million per incident in liability insurance through State Farm, as well as a $5000 personal property policy that covers my equipment. Of course, safety is my top priority, and I meticulously check my equipment (and my setup at each event) to minimize - if not eliminate - the risk of any safety issues.

How early do you come to set up?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the type of venue and how complicated of a setup I'll be bringing. For a very basic, one-system setup, I try to arrive between 90-120 minutes before guests arrive. If I'll be setting up more than one system, or if the venue requires the use of stairs, elevators, long hallways, distant parking, etc, I may request to arrive as early as 3 hours prior to guest arrival. As for unloading, I will usually be fully broken down and packed up no later than one hour after the event ends.

Question 6

Do you provide other services, such as lighting or photo booths?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Dance floor lighting is always included at no extra cost, and if it makes sense for the venue, I can use this system as decorative up-lighting or down-lighting before the dancing gets started. I also have a self-service photo booth including a table full of props and costume pieces. You and your guests will receive emails or text messages with digital copies of each photo taken at the booth. Please contact me for more details!

What is your travel fee?

There is no extra cost for events within 35 miles of downtown Pittsburgh. I am willing to travel up to 50 miles from the city for only the cost of fuel, and beyond that, we can discuss custom pricing for travel and lodging based on your individual needs.

Why don't you have more photos or work samples on Zola?

Accepted Answer

Much of my work through the years has been with other companies who owned the rights to images of their events. I have also been phasing out photos and videos that showed my "starter" setup under Party It Up. I've been taking updated photos and videos for the last several months and will be uploading them on my various platforms as time allows.
