My name is Melinda, and I’m the DJ of MadLove. My love for music started as a kid, heavily influenced by my older sister, which led to my deep appreciation for ‘90s and early 2000s R&B. Over time, my passion grew, and through my experience in the wedding industry, I’ve expanded my music library to cater to all genres. Transitioning from the nightclub scene to weddings was a complete 180, but the warmth and love we received from the wedding community made me stay.

What sets us apart is representation and inclusivity. Female DJs—especially queer female DJs—are rare in this industry, and that visibility matters. At MadLove, we believe that all forms of love deserve to be celebrated. We take pride in creating personalized playlists that reflect each couple’s unique love story, ensuring that their special day feels truly one-of-a-kind.

Hiring MadLove for our wedding was hands down the best decision we’ve ever made as a couple. Madelene and Melinda were absolutely phenomenal to work with, and we feel so lucky to have found them. As a queer and trans couple it was really important to us to work with folks who understood our vision, and not only did they do that, they made our vision even better than we could have ever imagined. We hired them for both day-of coordination and DJ services, and they went above and beyond in both roles, Madelene coordinating our many vendors flawlessly, responding to our questions and panic moments within minutes, and Melinda spinning absolutely FIRE tunes that kept over 100 people on the dance floor for 3 straight hours. MadLove gave us the wedding of our dreams, and we’ve had so many friends tell us our wedding was the best they’ve ever been to, which we fully credit to Madelene and Melinda. Madelene and Melinda made sure to capture every single moment and surprised us with so many goodies throughout the night, and we truly feel like we’ve found friends for life in them. I know they’re on the verge of blowing up, so sprint to book them because it will be the best gift you can give yourself for your wedding!

Madalene and Melinda were amazing to work with. As a Cambodian-American bride, with a strong identity to both cultures, I was having a hard time finding someone who could capture the essence of what it’s like to grow up and listen to Khmer music and mainstream American music and have all your memorable experiences be shaped by that. I am so so grateful I found Madlove and that they were able to deliver exactly what I wanted and recreate that nostalgia, but also they paid attention to the crowd and what they were feeling. Our wedding day was the best day ever and they made our reception time even more memorable. All of our friends and family were getting down to the Khmer music and it made me so proud! I loved seeing all of our friends embrace our fun dances like Madizone and Romvong. Highly recommend these amazing people to make your special day the best it can be!
