    Best decision!

    Working with Martin was an absolute breeze from start to finish! We had a few unconventional music requests and special moments we wanted incorporated throughout the night, and he never missed a beat. He was incredibly flexible, knowledgeable, and clearly knows how to read a crowd while still making the night feel uniquely personal to the couple. Every song and transition felt seamless, and he did an amazing job bringing our vision to life. The dance floor was packed all night long! The next day, we heard over and over again that it was the best wedding they had ever attended, and Martin played a huge role in creating that experience. Added pro tip: book the CO2 cannon. It added such a fun, high-energy moment to the reception and made for incredible photos and videos. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ and would recommend Martin to anyone looking for an unforgettable wedding reception!

    Truly personal and electric execution

    Active DJ Entertainment absolutely exceeded our expectations. Early in the planning process when I was meeting with wedding planners, every single one told me that Active Entertainment was the best choice we could make, and they were completely right. They handled both the sound for our ceremony at Airlie Gardens and the music for our reception at Bluewater Waterfront Grill, and everything was seamless from start to finish. They even accommodated a friend of ours who played piano during the ceremony. Martin was our reception DJ, and he did an incredible job taking the time to truly understand our music taste, preferences, and overall vision for the night. We wanted the music to feel like a high-energy concert and he executed it perfectly. The dance floor was packed all night, and the transitions and pacing were electric. At Martin’s recommendation, we also added the live saxophone, which was one of the best decisions ever. It brought amazing live energy to the reception and elevated the whole experience. Multiple guests told us it was the best music they had ever experienced at a wedding, and everyone had an incredible time all night long.     Best Wedding DJ

    Martin with Active Entertainment was incredible!     Hands down best DJ!

    Active Entertainment was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! A DJ requires a simpler, less expensive set-up that allows you more flexibility as the host of an event. DJs can deliver witty and stylish (and even outlandish) presentations, or they can blend into the background to add a quiet air of sophistication to any environment. DJs aren’t at all high maintenance and often work without taking breaks. Perhaps the best thing of all is that DJs ensure the music you love is exactly the music you’ll get.
We recommend that you reserve a DJ at least six months before your event, but Active Entertainment is able to accommodate some last-minute calls, so please contact us at your earliest convenience.
Absolutely; as long as the client says it is OK for the DJ to take requests. Active Entertainment helps its customers devise appropriate and engaging presentations. As long as requests don’t interrupt the flow of that plan, a DJ is happy to honor requests from the audience.
When overtime hours are not negotiated before an event, Active Entertainment cannot guarantee that a DJ’s services are available past the contracted time. However, the company strives not to book events too close to each other so that a DJ can stay late if needed. Active Entertainment charges $175 for each hour of overtime.
For the best sound quality, Active Entertainment uses Serato Scratch Live and Serato DJ software (MP3).
The company accepts cash, Visa/Mastercard/Discovery/AMEX, and checks payable to Active Entertainment.
In the event that unforeseen and last-minute trouble occurs, Active Entertainment’s professional relationships with an array of local DJs and equipment providers will help ensure that your event runs according to plan.
Active Entertainment uses only the best in DJ equipment and technology, including Pioneer MIDI players and mixers, Rane mixers, Technics Turntables, Shure microphones, JBL self powered speakers, Odyssey cases, Hosa cables and Apple Computers. All lighting and special effects are provided by ADJ and Chauvet.
Our DJs wear clothing that fits the theme and tone of your event and, if requested, will display their wardrobes for prior approval. Our DJs wear only suits for all corporate events and weddings.
Active Entertainment was formed in 2000.
Part of a great wedding reception is the relationship between the DJ and the bride & groom. Unless there is a schedule conflict, the DJ you meet with is the DJ that will be at your event.
We provided our DJ services for almost 300 weddings last year and dozens more corporate and private events.
All of our DJs have over 5+ years of experience. They all know the art of mixing music, beat matching and reading a crowd. Each DJ is personable, friendly and approachable. Their main goal is to make sure you and your guests are happy. We guarantee the DJ that you book with is the DJ that will be at your event. Active Entertainment uses only the best in DJ technology and we simply know how to rock a party!
The retainer fee is non-refundable, and if you cancel within 60 days prior to your event, the entire balance is due.
Of course. Active Entertainment highly recommends that its clients provide our DJs with the songs they would most like to hear. That makes our job easier, and guarantees our customers’ satisfaction.
