Why is New York the Perfect Wedding Destination?

New York gives you incredible variety for your special day, from Manhattan's iconic skyline to the charming countryside of Upstate. You can enjoy timeless elegance at The Plaza Hotel with its grand ballrooms overlooking Central Park, or take in breathtaking panoramic views of Manhattan at Tribeca Rooftop. Brooklyn offers photography-friendly industrial-chic spaces like The Foundry with its character-filled exposed brick and factory windows. Head Upstate and you'll find City Winery Hudson Valley where your celebration unfolds against the backdrop of a working vineyard with mountain views that change beautifully with each season. April sees the most wedding inquiries in New York, showing just how many couples are drawn to the region during spring's beautiful blooming season.

What's the Reality of Wedding Costs in New York?

Expect to pay more for your New York wedding than the national average of $6,500-$12,000 for venues alone. New York venues typically cost around $16,709 which makes up about 22% of your total wedding budget. Your overall costs will vary based on how many guests you're hosting: Guest Count Total Wedding Budget 50 guests (small wedding) $32,316 100 guests $54,844 150 guests $76,011 200 guests $94,911 250 guests $113,810 300 guests (large wedding) $132,709 Your other major expenses will include catering at $13,367 (18%), bar services running $10,694 (14%), florals at $8,177 (11%), planners costing $6,044 (8%), photography at $5,119 (7%), videography at $4,622 (6%), entertainment at $2,298 (3%), cake and desserts at $1,067 (1%), and hair and makeup averaging $550 (1%).

How Do NYC Wedding Venues Compare to Upstate Locations?

NYC venues offer you urban sophistication with distinctive skyline views. At Tribeca Rooftop + 360° you'll enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing Manhattan panoramas while The Plaza presents opulent ballrooms featuring chandeliers ornate molding and gold accents. The 620 Loft & Garden gives you a stunning rooftop terrace overlooking St. Patrick's Cathedral and Fifth Avenue. Upstate venues surround you with natural beauty and historic architecture. City Winery Hudson Valley welcomes you to a renovated factory featuring vaulted ceilings stone walls and vineyard views. You can host up to 350 guests here and customize your outdoor ceremony areas to create exactly the atmosphere you're dreaming of.

Which New York Venues Offer Outstanding Culinary Experiences?

You can treat your guests to Two Michelin star cuisine at Manhatta perched 60 floors high in the Financial District where Executive Chef Justin Bogle creates memorable dishes like hamachi and black truffle dumplings. The River Cafe in Brooklyn serves Michelin-starred cuisine featuring Hudson Valley foie gras and Nantucket Bay scallops with Brooklyn Bridge views right outside your window. For a farm-to-table experience Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Westchester County offers cuisine sourced directly from their on-site farm with their HayLoft space accommodating anywhere from 40 to 260 guests.

Where Can You Find Accessible Wedding Venues in New York?

For couples prioritizing accessibility 620 Loft & Garden offers customizable settings that can work with various needs though you'll want to confirm specific features during your planning. Prospect Park Boathouse and Central Park Conservatory Garden provide accessible options with proper pathways for all your guests. Always ask about specific accommodations like wheelchair ramps elevators and accessible restrooms when you're researching potential venues to ensure everyone can fully participate in your celebration.

How Can Guests Participate Remotely at New York Weddings?

Historic Manhattan venues can make remote guests feel included by incorporating virtual tours during ceremony breaks while Midtown Loft & Terrace supports interactive platforms that go beyond simple passive streaming. You might consider venues in Chelsea or SoHo that can enhance those famous skyline views with live streaming that includes interactive elements like virtual photobooths live chats or virtual toasts. These features help create genuine engagement for participants joining your special day from afar.

“We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! Our entire weekend was absolutely amazing, and everything exceeded our expectations in every possible way. From the moment we arrived, the venue felt so welcoming and special. Our guests had an incredible time, and it was so heartwarming to see everyone genuinely happy, relaxed, and enjoying themselves. The setting was beautiful, the atmosphere was exactly what we had dreamed of, and it gave us the perfect place to celebrate such an important moment in our lives. But what truly stood out to us was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally kind, helpful, accommodating, and genuinely wonderful. They went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, and we felt so supported throughout the entire weekend. Their kindness and attention to detail made such a difference and helped take away so much of the stress that naturally comes with planning such a big event. We put so much time, love, and effort into creating this weekend, and we honestly could not be happier with how everything turned out. It was even better than we imagined, and we left with so many beautiful memories that we will cherish forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make our wedding weekend so incredibly special. We are beyond grateful for everyone who played a part in making it everything we hoped it would be. “If we could give Brant Lake Camp a million stars, we would. Our wedding weekend here was nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s hard to put into words just how grateful we are for the experience. From the moment we first connected with Alexa, we knew we were in the best possible hands. She’s not just a coordinator—she’s a rare kind of person who blends warmth, precision, and pure joy into everything she touches. Every meeting, she showed up with clarity, answers, and a plan. Every promise she made, she fulfilled with grace. And during the weekend itself, she carried us so effortlessly through each moment that we were able to be fully present with our loved ones. Alexa’s smile and spirit are unforgettable, and she truly became the heartbeat of our wedding. But it wasn’t just Alexa—it was everyone. The staff at Brant Lake Camp became like family to us. Their kindness was endless, their energy boundless. They didn’t just work—they laughed with us, played with us, cheered with us. Who else says “yes” without hesitation when asked to referee water-gun capture the flag, lead a hike at sunrise, or host a massive kickball game? These aren’t just employees—they are people with generous hearts and playful spirits, and they infused our weekend with magic. The food was outstanding (we are still raving about the gyro lunch!), and the camp itself was a dream; expansive, stunningly maintained, and alive with possibilities. Guests found themselves running from archery to the beach to the ninja course, their inner kids reawakened. For those who needed help navigating the hills, staff were there in seconds with carts and smiles. No one ever felt like a burden, only like a treasured guest. And then—the wedding itself. We didn’t lift a finger. The team handled every detail, from setup to vendors to even keeping the surprise ice cream truck hidden until just the right moment. They threw an unforgettable after-party, complete with Pedro DJing his heart out - an unexpected surprise! Our weekend was full of picture-perfect moments: a welcome party under the lights by the water, a cozy campfire, cabins stocked with thoughtful touches like extra blankets, welcome bags delivered with care, etc. On our last night (we had an extended weekend), they somehow helped orchestrate a talent show, Family Feud, broadcast a college football game in one clubhouse, host movies for both kids and adults in others, and s’mores under the stars—because they knew how to give our guests every ounce of joy possible before it ended. And here’s the truth: our family and friends didn’t just “enjoy” the wedding. They were moved by it. They told us it was unlike anything they’d ever experienced, that it was unforgettable, that it felt like us. And that’s the gift Brant Lake Camp gave us—not just a wedding, but a weekend where our community could gather, play, laugh, and love with us in a way that one night never could. We left Brant Lake Camp with hearts so full they might burst. We left with memories that bring tears to our eyes even now. And we left with friends already interested in coming back for the family or adult weekends. If you’re considering Brant Lake Camp, don’t hesitate. It will change the way you think about what a wedding can be. It will give you more than a celebration—it will give you a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of love, joy, and connection. And it will stay with you forever.”

“My husband and I got married at LBL in July 11, 2026. There are so many great things about this venue and the staff there! I'll start by saying the venue itself was so nice. We had events Thursday-Sunday and it was amazing to have a place where all of our guests could spend the weekend and have things to do. Pickleball was a huge hit and a lot of people got out to enjoy the water in between wedding events. It was also nice to be able to have everything happen in one place so no one had to drive anywhere. It really allowed us to spend as much time with our guests as possible. Moving on to the staff, literally everyone (office staff, bar staff, room staff, wait staff) that worked there was great to interact with. They were always willing to help us out. Everyone there was so relaxed throughout the weekend I was worried that there would be something that went wrong but they got so many things done without me having to think about it let alone instruct them. As a type A bride this felt magical to have happened. You can tell they are experienced in running weddings and they care about making it the weekend that you want it to be. Rebecca was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was always quick to reply to emails and supper positive and reassuring through every step. We had a large room block and the office staff was helpful in coordinating all of the details and changes that came with reservations and welcome bags. LBL was supportive of the unique things we wanted to do. For example LBL handled the delivery, storage, and prep of a live butterfly release at the ceremony. They also were willing to take our Ninja slushy machine and use it to make a signature slushy cocktail throughout the night. I can't stress enough how great LBL was to work with and would definitely recommend having your wedding here!”
