“Words almost fail to express how freaking fabulous our time with The Barker House was! We are just over 3 months married (3/27/2025) and family and friends still remark to us on just how fun and gorgeous our wedding was. A ton of that credit goes to the amazing staff at the Barker House. Right from the start of our first tour, we were treated with such kindness and respect from the Barker House team. We were immediately sold on the staff (who took such time and care chatting with us) before we even fell in love with the venue. Davis-Lynn and Lilly were our rockstars! We were lucky enough to have them with us on our wedding day. The first portion of the day I was incredibly nervous, but once I was greeted by Davis-Lynn at the front door all my worries dissipated. I knew I was in the best of hands and suddenly felt ready to have fun. Even during the dinner service, Lilly was so kind as to sew my ripped bustle behind the scenes. She was so dedicated to making sure we had the best experience. The venue is simply stunning. As two people who appreciate history and go antiquing regularly, The Barker House spoke to our personalities. The speak-easy feel of the sunken bar, fireplaces, and exposed beams are very unique. The venue is in a gorgeous area and we were glad to be by the ocean. The chef is phenomenal as the food service was top notch. Family still exclaim to us how delicious the food was (omg the short ribs perfection!). I also suggest that couples utilize The Barker House's recommended vendors. Not only was payment and interaction with them a breeze, but they were each fabulous in responsiveness and quality. Awesome Blossom, Toast To That Entertainment, and Kristen Griffin Photography were incredibly professional and they each blew us away. I could go on and on... The bottom line, if you looking for a worry free all inclusive beautiful venue and want to work with the best people, look no further than The Barker House! P.S. Brides, make sure you get a picture with your planners! My only regret is that I didn't get a picture with Lilly and Davis-Lynn!”

“Picking the wedding venue is the first big step in planning the big day, after seeing the venue at Bittersweet Farm and meeting with our to be coordinator, it was a quick and easy decision to book them as a venue. We had a Fall wedding and we were fortunate to have great weather to hold the ceremony outside which is beautiful, however this venue having a 'Plan B' for the ceremony to be held inside in case of bad weather was a key selling point. Our wedding coordinator Alexis was amazing, communication was great and the day of she was so organized on directing us for the ceremony and reception. The food is also a huge highlight, all our guests kept praising how good the food was. Needless to say this was the best venue we could have picked, also we strongly feel you get your money's worth and Bittersweet gives you a very well valued package that isn't no where near where other overly priced venues are charging.”

“I recently hosted two events at Rachel’s with the exceptional help from their manager Sophia! One was a 40th anniversary celebration of the Friends of the Westport COA with 125 attending! Sophia helped plan, organize and execute an amazing night! Rave reviews by all who attended. My second event was a family Christmas party of 50. Several have life- threatening allergies which was no problem because Sophia addressed it and provided a safe buffet for all. The venue was ideal for my family and abrupt changes were made without problems due to unforeseen traffic issues causing one hour delays. It was definitely the best Christmas get together we have had and plan to celebrate it again next year at Rachel’s and their exceptional manager Sophia! I highly recommend this venue for any event you are planning. There will be no stress and you will be able to enjoy it too!”

“After one visit with Claudio at the Rotch Jones Duff House, my husband and I knew immediately that was the perfect spot for us to host our wedding. The Rose Garden was a stunning backdrop for our ceremony and the grounds provided plenty of space for our guests to eat, dance and celebrate. Claudio was so easy to work with, he was proactive in letting us know what he needed from us and provided so many tips and recommendations all throughout the planning process. The venue provided much of what we needed for the day, eliminating the need for excess rentals and even coming through a few times in a pinch with details we had accidentally overlooked. They were flexible in so many ways, accommodating all of our vendors and allowing for adjustments as we altered our guest list and changed our vision. Claudio answered every question, was quick to respond and provided invaluable insight for novice planners like us. On the day of the wedding, he was the silent star of the show; we had a day-of coordinator who was helpful and definitely necessary but it was Claudio who knew how to keep everything running exactly to plan and made the day feel completely seamless so I could focus on enjoying my time as a bride instead of stressing about the details of the day. Even our guests and bridal party loved him! From start to finish, working with the Rotch Jones Duff House was easily the best decision we made in planning our wedding. I can’t overstate how well worth the cost it was and how stress-free our experience with them has been. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the rose garden was and the stunning photos we took all over the grounds will forever speak for themselves.”
