I came to the states in 2015 to get my Masters in International Business but fell in love with the art of capturing light. Since then, I’ve never looked back. Mercedes is a filmmaker & photographer based in Portland, Maine. Mercedes studied anthropology and sociology at Umass Amherst and brings her skills as a filmmaker to projects ranging from weddings to broadcast television to feature-length documentaries. She views her work through an anthropological lens - stepping back, observing, and allowing her subjects tell their story in their own words. She loves capturing beauty in everyday moments as well as those extra special days in people's lives.
