I first entered the floral design world as an intern in 2016 and noticed a lack of originality in designs and a need for more connection between the florist and the couple. When I started WFD in 2019, I decided to prioritize both artistic designs and building long-term relationships with each couple. Planning my own wedding in 2021 gave me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of receiving creative expertise and genuine support from wedding vendors.

“From the moment I said yes, I knew florals would be the highlight of decor for our wedding day. Flowers hold such sentimental value for me because I’d spend my springs planting hundreds of annuals with my baba: zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, marigolds, begonias, etc. Going to my grandparents house was like going to a magical flower garden, and I wanted to recreate that feeling for our guests. After seeing Misha’s previous floral designs, I knew she would be able to bring what I had in mind to life; she did that and then some. The florals she lined my aisle with were exactly what I pictured: lush, whimsical, fun and filled with purples, oranges and greens. Those florals were then repurposed as centerpieces in the main reception tent and somehow became even more mystical underneath that lighting. On our way to the tent, we were amazed at the flowers on the seating chart wall. Dahlias and snapdragons, two of my absolute favorites… in colors that left me feeling the moody, romantic vibe I wanted and had described in design meetings with Misha leading up to the day. The flowers that adorned the tent’s entrance and up the poles created the most magical atmosphere. Sitting at our sweetheart table, we were surrounded by more florals that were repurposed from the ceremony; this time I believe from the gazebo, one of the most sentimental pieces of the day. Our reception tent really felt like a magical flower garden filled with our favorite people; exactly what we wanted for our wedding day.”

We also had a pretty small wedding party. I was in ivory and my wedding party was in mostly black. The only color came from my husband’s suit. My dress was also super simple so the flowers brought dimension to the larger look. I sent Laura a few pictures of arrangements I liked and arrangements I didn’t like and she totally ran with it knocking it out of the park. I was able to pin inspo pictures on a Pinterest board as well as share pictures of my dress, my husband's tux, and our wedding invitation suite. As a bride of Indian origin, I wanted bright spring florals that also complimented the industrial/French look of our venue. I was overwhelmed by the number of color combinations I was interested in and the team helped me narrow down to the best color scheme. Something to note is that you will need to provide bud vases and rent floral stands from B&B if that is something you want in your decor. Luckily my venue provided a moon gate that could be used for the ceremony, and the venue staff repurposed the florals from the ceremony to the sweetheart table.”

“The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!”

“When researching bouquets for my wedding I knew I didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars on real flowers just for them to die and I be left with no memories. I considered silk flowers but then stumbled across wood flowers and I was immediately sold on the idea. At the time there weren’t many ppl local to me who made wooden bouquets but I reached out to a few and ended up going with Katie at Heart & Sola Creations because she was so easy to talk to and walked me through the whole process. She didn’t have one of the colors I needed but asked me to send a fabric sample and she created a dye color that matched my bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly!! Everything came out perfect and looked so good in pictures. 6 years later and I still have my bouquet on display on a shelf and my husband’s boutonnière in a shadow box with our invite, vows and unity rope braid. I would highly recommended Katie for any of your wooden floral needs, she won’t disappoint.”
