We had our wedding at Collins at the Clocktower three weeks ago and it feels like a dream and was an absolutely perfect day thanks to everyone at the Collins team. We can't sing their praises enough and recommend anyone thinking about working with them for their wedding to book immediately! From our very first tour, to the planning and preparation before the wedding (including design work for tablescapes plus the 'Somthing Borrowed' closet and organizing vendors behind the scenes) to all of the help during the rehearsal with a dedicated Chapel Coordinator to the day of with at least 7 people on site dedicated to helping us set everything up, working with vendors, and making the day run SO SMOOTHLY, it was incredibly seamless and the Collins team also made it fun! When I look back on our day, the words that come to mind are easy, joyful, and fun. Will always be grateful to the Collins team and so happy we had our wedding there! *Pictures by Ashley Biess of Artistrie Co.

Garden Theater

5.0

Detroit, MI
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $10,000

Renowned “movie palace” architect C. Howard Crane designed Detroit’s historic Garden Theater, a commission he earned after he opened his own firm in Detroit in 1908. In addition to the Garden Theater, Crane has 250 theaters to his credit, 62 of which were built in Detroit, like The Majestic, The Fox, Orchestra Hall, the Detroit Opera House, and The Fillmore Detroit. One of the city’s earliest neighborhood theaters, the Garden Theater opened to the public in 1912. With its 900-seat capacity, it was one of the largest theaters built outside downtown; it originally hosted live stage shows and motion pictures. As the name implies, Crane cleverly incorporated vines, birds and other garden-style decorations in its design to immerse patrons in an outdoor-like experience. After decades in ruin, the theater underwent a multi-million-dollar restoration and was rededicated in 2013, a century after its initial debut, as part of Midtown’s vibrant resurgence.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • Requires outside catering services
  • Not wheelchair accessible
From the moment we first reached out to the team at Garden Theater, we were impressed by their detail-oriented, proactive, and personalized service. Their incredible attention to detail took a lot of the stress out of planning our wedding. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and unique, and the dedicated team was committed to making our day perfect. They went above and beyond to accommodate some special requests, and everything turned out even better than we had hoped. Biko, Amy, and BJ were so professional and attentive throughout the process, and they even helped the groom plan a special surprise for the bride that wowed all the guests. We are so grateful to the Garden Theater team for making our wedding day truly unforgettable.

It was amazing to see my favorite music venue transformed for our wedding, we loved everything about it. Working with event coordinator Mellisa was a great experience, she was so helpful and thoughtful throughout the whole process. We had rave reviews on the food from our guests, especially the elephant ears for dessert. The chef even made separate dishes for myself and a bridesmaid who are vegetarians. The bar service was also awesome and super friendly. Our guests were very pleased with the variety. The overall flow of the wedding went great, and the team made sure everyone was in their places when needed. We also got to take some pretty awesome photos throughout the venue complex, including the Garden Bowl. The band we hired sounded and looked great with the house lights and sound. I cannot say enough good things, I would do it all over again! It was everything I could have wanted and more. Thank you soooooo much, Majestic Team!!!

The Eastern is a wonderful industrial, versatile venue in the heart of Eastern Market in downtown Detroit! This venue comes as a blank slate. So many different options as to how you can dress this venue up for a wedding/event. Be sure to use the few large wooden tables it comes with for your buffet table, hors d’oeuvre table, seating outdoors, head-table etc. Look no further than The Eastern or The Norwood for your wedding! I would recommend this venue to any couple looking to have a wedding in a unique spot, rather than a ballroom.
