Hi! I'm Alex, owner and lead designer of Wilder, a wedding florist and floral design studio serving NYC, Syracuse, Rochester, The Finger Lakes, and beyond! Wilder has created florals for galas, fashion shows, and weddings at some of the best NYC venues for over a decade, and more recently, at boutique venues in Central New York. We approach our beautifully wild wedding flowers with passion, cohesiveness, and an environmental ethic, taking inspiration from the landscape around us. Most of my design blends more obvious blooms with forage from my land upstate, so that your wedding feels seasonal, natural, original and (elegantly ) wild.

We all start this wild journey one way or another. My way? I was introduced to Ansel Adams’ work in a Photo 1 class in high school. How would the kids say this… his black and whites were giving adventure? What I mean is, they were nice. I had already been hiking the Adirondacks for 15 years at that point, why couldn’t I do it? Why couldn’t I take those photos too? I set out to prove to myself I could. Over the past decade I’ve evolved from landscapes to sports to family portraits to weddings. I continue all of those today. I took my first cake decorating class in 1999. I absolutely fell in love with cake decorating from day one and, over 20 years later, find myself just as passionate about decorating as I was in that first class. In 2015, I reached one of my biggest goals as a cake decorator, and proudly have my own commercial kitchen. I have made hundreds of wedding and specialty cakes through the years. Folls' Flowers started in 1999 with the purchase of a 98 acre farm in the Finger Lakes of Central New York. Thea Folls and daughter Heather Walz planted and cared for one acre of flowers to begin and have expanded over the last twenty years to include many different trees, flowering shrubs, perennials, bulbs and annual flowers. We are adding a high tunnel to expand our harvest season in the spring and we are also planting hundreds of new flowering shrubs including hydrangeas, hollies, spirea, pussy willows, and evergreens.
