During her college career, she performed with the University of Utah and University of Arizona’s Wind Ensemble and Philharmonic as their principal harpist. Her solo performing career started at the age of 9 and since then, she has played in over 100 weddings and events.

“Oh my goodness I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with having Merinda play our wedding! She was so fast to respond to me, and had such amazing communication on timing, pricing, and the music that I wanted! She had such a vast selection, and even was willing to learn new song just for us. We got married up in the Uinta mountains, which was a hard long location to get to. She showed up early and was so prepared. I tell you she was a trooper, we had crazy rain and hail and she was just happy and pleasant and playing beautifully still! Carting her harp all around the camp and just was absolutely amazing. She is so talented! I cannot recommend her enough, do yourself a favor and have her play your event! Thank you Merinda!”

We asked Michael to play classical and romantic pieces before the ceremony as our guests took their seats and switched to Latin for the reception. We also asked Michael to play a special piece for our procession – “May it Be” by Enya – which he learned to play just for us. As the wedding date approached, I realized the reception would last longer than I originally estimated, yet Michael said he was more than happy to extend his time to continue playing for our guests. “I will start with Glenn is a great person and was very easy to communicate with leading up to the wedding and responded to messages quickly. There is a list that you are given by the DJ for all the important moments for songs to play, that was great and done correctly. The reason we gave lower stars were for the following reason; the playlists we sent were not used. We gave playlists for every duration of the wedding for music we wanted played during the pre ceremony music, dinner and reception/dancing. Out of the playlist songs only a handful were actually played for each section and for the pre ceremony not at all. Even after having been brought to their attention at the dinner during the reception, dancing went the same random unwanted music was being played. People were unable to dance to the music that was playing and it was frustrating when the DJ announced come request music and then the songs people were requesting (which were on the playlists) weren’t getting played anyways. We would hope that moving forward he plays the music people actually want to hear and dance to at their wedding because this is a memory the couple will always remember and it is something that we still hear about from guests even to this day about how the music was lacking.”
