Choosing A View West Shores was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. My husband and I were married there in October 2024, and we still get so many comments from friends and family about how beautiful the space was. The people truly set this place apart. Lindsay and Delaney walked alongside us through the entire planning process — answering every question, preparing us for what to expect, and making us feel supported and celebrated the whole way through. We felt loved from the very first time we toured the space, and they went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we hoped it would be. The space itself is even more beautiful in person than it is in pictures (even though it doesn’t seem possible). Being right on the lake made for the best photos, especially during sunset! Our day was everything we hoped for and more, and a huge part of that is because of Lindsay, Delaney, and the rest of the A View team. I would recommend A View West Shores over and over again to any couple looking for a beautiful venue with people who truly care.

The rustic yet elegant charm of The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm offers you a truly unique setting in a "one of a kind" historic event venue. The beautiful Dutch Gambrel style barn was built in 1935. A businessman and dairy farmer from Boston named Anthony W. Ackerman hired architect and builder Adolph Otte from the nearby town of Elkhorn, NE., to construct the barn. Upon its completion, the Ackerhurst Dairy Barn was described as the largest barn in Nebraska. The barn is rectangular in shape and is constructed of wood with a concrete block foundation. The Barn is nearly two hundred feet long. The Barn, though constructed as two levels, is as tall as a four-story building. In a newspaper article in the Omaha World Herald, it was described that Ackerhurst Dairy was “one of finest dairy farms in the Midwest”. Mr. Ackermann did not know, back in 1935, that his dream would someday become a location of the beginning of a lot of dreams come true.

What Should You Ask When Touring Nebraska Wedding Venues?

Nebraska's variable climate means you should always ask about weather contingency plans when touring potential venues. You don't want your perfect day ruined by unexpected rain or those famous Nebraska winds. For multipurpose venues like Wilderness Ridge ask about noise restrictions and overtime fees since these can impact your celebration timeline. When visiting all-inclusive venues like The Barn in Bennington make sure to clarify what's actually included in the base price versus what will cost extra. Getting these details upfront helps you avoid budget surprises later and ensures you're comparing venues accurately.
