Kevin is chill and one of the kindest humans and Val is outgoing and fun. We balance each other well! We have two labs, Onni and Stella. Here are a few fun facts about me! I grew up on my family's farm outside of Winfield, IA and had THE BEST childhood growing up in a loving family with my two younger sisters. My husband, Kolton, and I started dating back in 2010 when he was a senior and I was a junior. After high school I attended Western Illinois University where I earned my Bachelors in Graphic Design with a minor in Photographic Media. While in college I was blessed to have a photographer back home take me under her wing and be her second shooter for weddings (Shoutout to Billi Gerling, Photographic Memories!).

I’ve always had a love for art and creating so naturally photography quickly became my outlet after purchasing my first camera in 2017. In 1972, 70-year-old Ben Vanderhook tore down old barns in Mahaska County and surrounding counties to create our beautiful barn, located a stone’s throw south of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees.
