The Barn at Bull Run is a newly renovated wedding and event space. Originally built in 1933 as a dairy barn, The Barn at Bull Run was owned by Schwab Dairy until it was purchased by the Presbytery of Peoria as well as the surrounding land in the fall of 1967. The Morton Park District now owns the property and has completely restored and renovated the space into a beautiful wedding venue, complete with a ceremony space, reception space, bridal suite, and grooms suite. The venue can hold a max capacity of 250 people.

Our gorgeous venue includes two floors that are full of history that has been blended with modern design. This historic building started out in 1917 as a meat packing plant and has had many transformations. Since 2013 Arlington's has hosted events of every kind and we continue to grow in our excellence every year. Our expert event coordinators and staff will make sure your wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, baby shower, birthday party, corporate event, fundraiser, or holiday party is as perfect as you can imagine! You can book either the smaller main floor space that allows up to 70 seated or 100 standing guests, or our larger top floor that allows 140 seated or 275 guests. Edwards Place, built in 1833, was a social center of antebellum Springfield. In its gracious parlors Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, Ulysses S. Grant, and other Illinois luminaries gathered at elegant parties and balls. You, too, can have your special day in the same rooms where Abraham and Mary Lincoln were guests more than 150 years ago, now meticulously restored to the grandeur of their antebellum days. Edwards Place is available to rent for showers, weddings, and receptions – the perfect choice for a distinctive event in a historically significant setting. You can even include extra services for your event, such as the use of a piano often heard by Abraham Lincoln (and possibly played at his wedding!). Grace Lutheran Church was organized on February 2, 1888, with 18 charter members. It was notable for being the first “English” church, with services in English rather than Swedish, in the Augustana Synod. Connections to Augustana College were strong, and services were held at Augustana’s chapel in the early years of the church.

Engelbrecht Farm sits on 8 acres and is located in the heart of farming country. A very unique structural features of the barn is the opening to allow guests to be seated to two levels and both levels can look at the head table for a gallery type feel. The other unique feature is its size. It is the largest actual barn (not modern structure that looks like a barn) within multiple states at 4500 square feet. Adjacent to the barn is the old 4000 square foot feedlot with flower garden and iron pergola. Late in the day makes for a great spot for outdoor games. With the barn comes the recently restored, three bedroom farmhouse originally constructed in the 1890’s. One amazing aspect for the wedding package is it’s a standard three day booking. Families arrive on Friday and check out on Sunday. This gives them time to relax and take the whole experience in. Plus the time is spent making their wedding their own.
