Gabe & Lindsey were amazing to work with. My husband and I stopped by in August and sealed the deal a few weeks later with an easy electronic deposit. Our wedding was held on a Sunday, March 24th. We opted for the cheaper beer & wine package, and Gabe was flexible with our budget offering two additional specialty cocktails (tequila, soda water & pineapple juice a whiskey old fashioned) We did not opt for the coffee station, thus Espresso Martinis are not an option in the budget package. A month into planning our wedding planner bailed on us, but as a former event planner, and with Lindsey's amazing response time, we were able to pull this off DIY. When I say DIY, the venue allowed our guests to help as vendors from florist, to DJs, sound and dessert. We only were required the event insurance and I was able to provide my personal DJ policy (as I spin myself). A friend made the cupcakes and the staff saved room in the fridge to store them. We brought in our own sound, however the indoor area has a quality sound system to play among the rooms and indoor bar and lounge during cocktail hour and getting ready time, which you can bring your own laptop, ipad etc. they even had adapters if you brought your phone to be the inside playlist DJ. We were granted access to the venue for 11 hours with no additional charge in our initial quote. No hidden fees incurred and the bar was open for 5 hours of that time. Right during photos before the ceremony, Lindsey kept watch of the weather and informed us, "I's a 100% change of rain in 10 minutes!" However, this turned into a beautiful moment as all guests stepped up to move the décor indoors, and we decided to hold the ceremony with 80 guests inside. Once it was over, the rain stopped and my husband and I, whom wrote an album based on our vows were able to perform outside right after. Staff had provided us with trash bags to cover our gear in the rain in the meantime. We did not use a preferred caterer, but they were still able to provide linens, napkins, flatware and glasses, with many colors to choose from. We booked Border Grill who had worked at the venue before and were a great help! Gabe even allowed us to order pizza for delivery for the kids (picky eaters). The day went by so fast, I loved the bridal suite, hair and makeup found it easy to set up and Lindsey assisted with power cords to run as outlets are sparse, but the building is so classically beautiful and pristine vintage it was absolutely worth it! Pricing was so affordable and I would do it at the Oviatt all over again!

We booked our wedding for May 2020 at Seventh/Place. Ani and team were amazing, great communicators, super flexible with what we wanted to do and the vision we had for our day! When the world shut down in March, we obviously had to push our wedding out. Seventh/Place was fantastic, so understanding and flexible, it felt like family. Even more, when we had to push the wedding AGAIN in May 2022 (we contracted covid the week of the wedding), the team was wonderful, helping us find new vendors and a new date (again)! The July 2022, long awaited wedding was perfect! The venue was exactly what we had envisioned and the team was once again a dream to work with. I can not recommend this venue enough!

The Portofino Hotel & Marina

4.7

Redondo Beach, CA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $16,000

Welcome. The Portofino Inn, as it was originally named, was opened in 1962 by racecar enthusiast Mary Davis. The inn drew thousands of visitors for a three-day welcome celebration for the King Harbor opening and soon became a hangout for racers including Peter Revson, an F1 Grand Prix Winner. The Cannonball Run, a car race from New York to Los Angeles turned feature film, was first run in 1971 with The Portofino Inn as the final destination.

Had the best wedding the portofino. It was beautiful and so easy and fun for our out of town guests. The venue was beautiful and the staff was so helpful, from planning through to the day off. Chris and Rain were great! Loved the getting ready rooms. Loved the reception on the lawn. Loved the views. Loved the food! We got lots of comments on the food being great and the bartenders being lightening fast. We’d choose portofino again if we could do it all over.

Our wedding day was a dream come true! A true garden paradise and we were so reluctant to have found Stonehurst. The venue have so many beautiful spaces to work with. We didn’t a venue that is just a blank canvas and loved that the Stonehurst have so many lush gardens filled with unique plants and flowers which made it so much easier when it came to our decor! Nancy and her staff were very helpful and made sure our day was perfect. She was always there to answer our million questions! This venue is really a hidden gem.

What can I say? The Revery will FOREVER be a place that holds a special place in my husband and I's heart. Monica, the owner, is such a pleasure to work with. She is very particular but she is upfront about her rules from the very beginning and never tried to add any hindrance to what we wanted. She was super communicative and kind throughout the whole process. Then - there's the venue itself. We ended up having all three events there. Ceremony (outdoor veranda), Cocktail Hour (upstairs photo studio), Dinner (indoor veranda). Even though it's a "white" space where you have to bring everything in, we LOVED this component because we felt like we were able to design our wedding from start to finish. The blank canvas provided us with an opportunity to really add our own personality. This was the first decision we made when it came to our wedding planning and it was the BEST one we could've made. We love you, Revery!! xo

Sierra La Verne By Wedgewood Weddings

4.5

La Verne, CA
  • Up to 250 guests

  • Starts at $5,540

This spectacular venue offers million-dollar views entwined with nature. From the lake and foothill views to the rich landscaping and mature palms, Sierra La Verne by Wedgewood Weddings is ideal for celebrations of all sizes. Renovated in 2019, this is a remarkable location. In the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountain Range, there is a gorgeous grandeur and serene quality of light visible at all times of the day. With two unique reception rooms, you're sure to find the look and feel you want for your wedding. Neutral and naturally beautiful, Sierra La Verne by Wedgewood Weddings can be rustic or romantic, elegant or ethereal - bring your imagination and prepare for your family and friends to be wowed!

We very much enjoyed our wedding. As do most weddings, there were some hiccups. Food was amazing even though tasting prior was no longer included, we were (inappropriately) invited to taste at a wedding we weren’t invited to, but all in all an amazing spread and we wholeheartedly recommend the carving station and make sure you request a plate to go because they clear all without question. They offer recommendations for cake, DJ and other vendors. I recommend shopping around as the selection is limited. We did go with Somecrust bakery in Claremont their French Buttercream is to die for; however, if u want extravagant or even more than traditional looking designs they aren’t capable of accommodating. The DJ was in-house and though very nice and well versed was not as engaged as expected. I would’ve like a shorted version of most songs requested so as to get a wider verity of music. If you want a club atmosphere make sure to request them not to play full tracks. Our planning was pushed off to 3 separate planners from start to finish. We were promised 1 day of coordinator but was give a completely different day of coordinator on the day of with no real explanation. Our plan and schedule that was meticulously thought out over months of discussion wasn’t properly followed which pushed back all my timelines causing me to feel rushed throughout out the ceremony and reception. We were informed that we would need to vacate the premises by a certain time but, on day of we were give no warning and the DJ just stop playing and packed things up while the serving staff began packing up the reception area. Our guests began asking us if it was over which we didn’t actually know until I got ahold of the day of coordinator who confirmed. Our wedding party had to hurry and remove things from the bridal/groom “suites” before we were locked out causing things to become missing including our marriage certificate which had to be re-issued and re-signed. Overall it was a decent experience and though there were some things I would change as long as you are super tight with the deets it was the best bang for our buck. Make sure you go for the highest package and remove things you don’t need. It saves on overall costs and gives you option to re-add as needed later without enormous budget concerns. The payment affordable and budget-friendly as well with the option of slit payment arrangements.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew that we were somewhere special. The 1909 was the most romantic and peaceful backdrop to our wedding day, from the time that we got there in the morning to get ready until 11:00pm when we were out the door. Everything was so easy, the food was incredible, and we felt so supported by the staff (who quickly became friends to us). We cannot The 1909 enough for hosting us and our family and friends for will forever be one of the most cherished days of our lives. Thank you so much!!!! Warmly, Mr. and Mrs. Little

We had the most wonderful tiny wedding in the East Room and the patio! My fiancé and I were looking for a venue that felt intimate, but that was in Downtown LA and had a private outdoor space, and the East Room met our criteria. We had a small 8-person luncheon, and it was exactly the experience we wanted: wonderful food and truly amazing service. The room itself was gorgeous, with really beautiful tile floors and a long counter. The patio was also very picturesque with views of DTLA, and we had a bar outside as well. We ran slightly late because of photos/congratulations from family, and the Redbird team was incredibly understanding and we never felt rushed. The meal was also coursed perfectly and everyone loved all of the food served. The events team at Redbird was also great to work with in the planning stages. I had originally planned to keep our ceremony/lunch VERY simple (i.e. wasn’t even planning flowers), and the Redbird team went above and beyond to help me find the perfect flower arrangements and even made a tiny cake to cut. They were easy to work with and super responsive to calls/emails, and were great about follow-ups. I would highly recommend Redbird - and the East Room - for smaller weddings. We had such a wonderful ceremony, and the Redbird team really helped us look beyond our original vision to something even better. Thank you so much!
