Inspired by my kids, I pour my heart into every recipe, turning fresh, high-quality ingredients into treats that bring people together. I am a self-taught macaron baker since fall 2018. When I was introduced to macarons and saw how versatile, pretty and flavorful macarons could be, I decided to perfect the technique so I could provide them at the weddings, showers and birthdays for all my friends. As my experience grew I started receiving requests from people all over Pittsburgh to add a unique twist to their sweetest moments, so much so that in September of 2021, I quit my corporate job to bake full-time! I absolutely love being able to enhance a wedding, baby shower or bridesmaid proposal with some rare, scrumptious treats that everyone is delighted to see and taste.

We give it a little shot of rum flavor, which provides Moio's Italian Pastry Shop's wedding cakes with their unique, festive taste.

The Millie’s story began back in the summer of 2014 when co-founder, Chad Townsend, decided it was time for a career change. After years of hustling as a renowned chef in the fast-paced world of fine dining, he was ready to leave it all behind. On a whim, he purchased a Paco-Jet™ – a fancy Swiss-made kitchen appliance that micro-purees deep-freezed foods to a fine texture to produce ice creams and sorbets. Fun facts: Paco-Jets are like, really, really expensive & this purchase was on his wife’s credit card (oof).

I love creating ice cream! Give me a flavor, or a cookie, and let me turn it into an ice cream creation! We opened in 2015 and have expanded into 3 shops since! We are a full Coffee bar as well, but creating amazing ice cream is my true calling!
