Gorges Beer Co. was the perfect wedding venue for our special day. Their communication style was effortless, clear, and seamless throughout the entire planning process. The quality of their work and the value they provided was truly beautiful, spacious, and elegant. Kelli and Travis were excellent at answering all of my (many) questions, and they put together the most beautiful space for the most beautiful day. The views from the venue were to die for, and the bar set up outside was incredible. They made my storybook fantasy wedding real, and I wish I could relive the day over and over again. The venue itself had a charming, rustic feel that was exactly what we were looking for, and the economic value was great. The staff was excellent on the day of, and the wedding went off without a hitch. We were also able to set up our decorations a day early, which was a huge help. Lucy'S Informal Flowers

We custom design each wedding and each one is unique to the couples, the venue and time of year. Our shop supports local growers and we source from farms though out the Columbia River Gorge and Pacific Northwest. best, Lucy

I was so happy I decided to stop into the shop one day and was lucky enough to talk to Lucy about her services. She doesn't have a minimum and was happy to do some flowers for us a la carte - we made most of the flowers from paper but I wanted fresh flowers for the bouquet, boutonnieres, floral crowns, etc. Everything was so easy and straightforward and she had helpful feedback for my ideas. She did a gorgeous job - we loved our fresh flowers!

This venue is absolutely amazing. My partner and I both grew up in Hood River and spent years coming here for family gatherings, so getting married at this spot was incredibly special. The grounds are STUNNING—they barely need any decor—and the catering staff was top-notch. We even lost a few things during the day, and both the hotel front desk and cleaning crew went out of their way to help us find them. Truly above and beyond service. That said, I had to take off a star because of the on-site wedding coordinator, Cheyanna. She created a number of last-minute issues and unfortunately brought down the overall joy of the day. The moment all the bills were paid, her attitude shifted to “I don’t want to be here,” and she showed little interest in how the event actually came together. It became clear she hadn’t taken notes during any of our meetings—she didn’t seem to know our timeline and ignored many things we’d already approved, like the candles we brought (which she wouldn’t allow our personal coordinator to light). She also gave conflicting answers without checking with staff. For example, we had pre-arranged to stock the bar with sparkling waters we were providing, which was approved by the venue and bartender. But on rehearsal day, she told us it wasn’t allowed—only for us to later find out from our parents that it was allowed after all. A similar situation happened with taking home leftover food: first it was a no, then a yes when we asked why not. (The food is top notch by the way, all of our guests had rave reviews) She also didn’t seem to be supporting the venue or her team. The outdoor bathrooms weren’t unlocked by cocktail hour, and guests arrived to wet chairs that she did not even check on after a morning drizzle. THANK GOODNESS for our personal wedding coordinator. She truly saved the day and handled most of the challenges that came up with Cheyanna. In fact, she said she might not recommend this venue while Cheyanna is still working there. This venue is a total gem, and with an enthusiastic, well-organized coordinator in place, it will be even better. Until then, I highly recommend hiring your own coordinator to make sure your day runs smoothly.

Celilo Restaurant & Bar was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding catering. Their communication throughout the entire planning process was clear, punctual, and highly professional. On the day of our wedding, the quality of their work was simply flawless - the food they served was mouth-watering and they were incredibly considerate, making sure my husband and I were taken care of at all times by providing us with personal trays of food and beverages. They also sent us home with packed boxes of leftovers so that we could continue to enjoy the great food after all the festivities were said and done. All of the Celilo staff were so friendly and helpful, offering assistance in any way they could. We could not have asked for a better catering experience, and would highly recommend Celilo to any couple planning their special day!

Possibly the best decision we made during our wedding process (aside from getting married), was choosing this venue. We were able to rent and use 3 locations throughout the weekend (Pavilion, House 3, and Thunder Island), and each was accommodating and gorgeous in its own way. The ease of having everything from welcome night, rehearsal, ceremony, and reception in the same spot made our logistics 10 times easier. Lots of wedding venues are gorgeous, but what sets the Locks apart is their this place is that they are truly flexible and hospitable. They will actually listen and try to make anything work for you! We had 200 guests so we really pushed the capacity, and the team worked flawlessly to make sure we got what we needed. Jeanetta (the manager) offered so much helpful perspective, was easy to reach and communicate with, and went the extra mile, even helping us put up and take down lights, bringing her personal tools. It felt like showing off the PNW to our east coast and Midwest guests. They were blown away, and so were we. If you want a low-stress, high-flexibility, and completely stunning outdoor wedding, this is the spot. Hidden gem for sure.

The website had guidelines that were extremely helpful. They have templates that make it smooth to organize photo taking. On the big day, Taylor and Ramzi arrived early and seamlessly blended in with our guests while capturing beautiful candid moments. They must us feel confident and had tons of fun during the photos! They managed to capture all the little details we spent so much time planning. The final photos were delivered quickly and the quality is outstanding. We love our photos so much! Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Moro, OR

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
Because of all the florals already there due to the nature of the venue, and all the florals and plants they filled in, I didn’t feel the need to have a ton of florals, so I did them myself! I found Flower Moxie here on Zola and they were so great! If you are thinking about DIY’ing your florals, I would definitely recommend looking into Flower Moxie! They have some set packages you can chose from, but I upgraded to the highest personalized package and it was so worth it. I got to have a phone call with the florist and they put together a custom package, and they definitely killed it, the flowers were exactly what I had in mind. There were so many resources and they went through everything so well I felt so prepared and we had almost no issues putting all the florals together. All of our florals still looked fresh and beautiful on our wedding day, and some of the florals in our arch arrangements lasted WEEKS. A word of caution though: it is definitely a lot of work, so just ensure that you have enough time in town before your wedding (i.e. you can’t fly in the day before your ceremony, if you are traveling to that location) and enough people to help you (for putting together, transporting and anything day of). I actually really enjoyed getting to do my florals myself, and would highly recommend if you are creative and DIYing your wedding!

After over 18 years of experience, I have mastered the art of putting my clients at ease and creating an environment for them to be present and most importantly be themselves. I have a deep passion for not only the images I create but for the people I work with. I truly consider it an honor to be a part of someone’s wedding day and the images we create together become reflective memories for the couple, not just snapshots in time.

We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Everything came out so beautifully and was perfect for our day. Thank you Jen!
