Getting married at Red Ridge was the easiest and best decision I made for our wedding! I was sold as soon as I had a tour and reviewed the multiple package options. The whole staff is so accommodating and pays close attention to detail. I was able to structure out the entire wedding ceremony and reception months before the Big Day. Your Something Old & New! Olde Dobbin Station will provide a unique experience for its clients through the use of old structures built in the early 1900’s, restored to their original look and feel, while adding a vintage touch. The buildings were initially used by oil companies as a “pumping station” and later became a famous place of fellowship for those in the community due to its Artesian Water Well. It became the community “swimming hole” according to many of the locals and remains a historical marker for the community and its residents. Olde Dobbin has recently renovated its final structure and officially has made it into a chapel. The “chapel” was initially used in the late 1800’s as a pump house for the nearby trains' steam.

My husband and I had our wedding anniversary party at Olde Dobbin Station. You just can’t go wrong with this venue. The staff is knowledgeable, caring and dedicated. They are able to answer questions that will help you make the best decisions for your event. Everyone works well with the other vendors and that makes for a very smooth event experience. The venue itself is full of authentic history that you can actually see for yourself with the arches and the exposed steel beams. That type of aesthetic is not easy to replicate and gives ODS a distinct look and feel all of its own. The chapel is very versatile. There is not a right or wrong way to set up the space for a wedding ceremony. Added bonus: it also has a groom’s suite! Even the bridal suite is rich in history and as an original building, has been dedicated to brides and their wedding party as the ultimate place to get ready. The venue grounds are well kept and manicured. This leads to numerous outdoor locations for natural light photos. Not to mention, an outdoor ceremony location. This venue has it all! You will be very happy with your choice!

Built for the Richard S. Willis family in 1854. Hodge Podge Lodge was originally called "Melrose" in memory of an estate owned by his ancestors in Scotland. The home started as a four room, story and a half house with a detached kitchen. Throughout the house, one can trace the outline of the original footprint by noticing the wide plank flooring in the parlor, formal dining room and library. During the civil war era the massive lawn, with huge oak and pecan trees, quickly became a favorite place for many young people in town for picnics and family gatherings. It is on these same grounds that we invite you and your loved ones to celebrate life’s memorable occasions.

The town of Navasota was founded in 1854 and the tracks brought the railroad by 1859. One of the first buildings built here was a hotel, built by Ms. Louisa Loftin. She was quite the ambitious widow for a woman during the late nineteenth century. Conflicting research shows the hotel was either built as early as 1860 or as late as 1876. She soon met and married P. A. Smith and the hotel bore his name. At first, the railroad brought a great number of patrons, but, unfortunately, the Civil War brought the economy of Navasota as well as the success of the hotel, down, after only a few years.
