I’m the floral designer, painter, graphic artist, dog mom, adventure seeker, and visionary behind Jae Le Mae. My love for art and passion for design began when I was young. Drawing inspiration from my French and Italian roots, our arrangements are based on the European principles of floral design: balance, proportion, contrast, texture, and harmony. We believe that color is the foundation of everything, which is why we love exploring unexpected color palettes that are unique to our clients.

Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

As a special event florist my mission is to create original, quality, lasting keepsake florals, which reflect the beauty and eternal love that they help celebrate. I started working with wood flowers in February of 2020. A friend of mine had recently gotten married, and seeing her bouquet in the trash stuck with me. I researched fresh vs silk flowers, fresh are stunning but expensive & have a fast expiration date. Silk flowers didn’t really satisfy the customization and realism that I desired. I stumbled across wood flowers, purchased a few & quickly realized that not only was I actually a little talented at what I was doing, but I absolutely LOVED doing it. I fell in love almost immediately. I want to express my love & passion for these wood flowers & I want brides to fall in love the same way I did.
