I'm a Vermont-based photographer who specializes in photographing intimate and authentic weddings, elopements, and renewals. Combining a love of landscape photography and portraiture, I love any wedding that is off the beaten path, and all the quiet moments that make up such a momentous day.

I have studied fine art photography long before I ever started taking portraits of other people and shooting weddings. Fine art photography was my beginning, creating conceptual and authentic art that spoke to me and told my story was what I started with and then I started blurring that line between fine art and documentary. I started documenting other people and their lives in the same way that I created my own work intended for shows and galleries. That is how I came to the style that I shoot now, still blending the two parts of my life.

We work with the average human, not models, and through prompting, and just sort of watching you (god that feels creepy to say), we'll craft gorgeous images that feel like you. I'm not interested in making images that look standard, or that don't tell a story, that's the whole point of hiring a photographer right? To be able to tell your wedding day story.

I grew up in Eastern Europe — technically Moldova. I have always had a natural eye for photography. In my youth, I often looked out at the landscape and thought of ways to capture its uniqueness and beauty. Eight years ago, I began taking wedding photos as an assistant, and studied under my mentor, a well-known photographer and cinematographer. I learned to take my natural eye and transform that into a journalistic style of photography. Over the last five years, my focus has been on being the best Boston wedding photography. I have documented over 100 weddings and have photographed weddings at churches, parks, and people’s backyard.

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. Matthew started solo in 2019, hobby shooting and taking on the occasional paid photoshoot, as his skills developed so did his workload. The work just kept coming. As the transition from hobbyist to professional photographer stuck. He can be found hiking in Vermont’s beautiful rolling Green Mountains, working in his Montpelier studio, or traveling far and wide in search of inspiration and stories to tell.
