We’ve been working with Tre, the owner of Events on Pine, for over a year now, and from the moment we first saw the space, we knew it was the one. We fell in love with the venue instantly and booked it right away for our wedding in May 2026. Throughout the entire process, Tre was incredible. We attended several of her open houses, and every time she was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely supportive. She shared so many great ideas and made the planning process feel exciting rather than overwhelming. Her insight, responsiveness, flexibility, and overall energy made such a difference for us throughout the year. Now that we officially had our wedding here, we can honestly say it was everything we hoped for and more. Tre and her team were amazing from start to finish. After over a year of planning together, it was so special to finally see everything come to life. The space looked beautiful, the flow of the day felt smooth, and our guests kept telling us how much they loved the venue. From the morning of the event, Tre and her husband were helpful, supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went well. The suites available for getting ready were perfect for photos, our first look, and our first touch. My family was also able to use the other suite, which made the day feel comfortable and organized from the very beginning. One of the coolest parts was having our ceremony in the space and then watching it completely transform into the reception during cocktail hour. The room flip turned out beautifully. Our guests were impressed, and honestly, so were we. We received so many compliments on how everything looked and how smoothly the transition happened. Tre also brought amazing ideas that contributed to the overall vision of our ceremony and celebration. She truly helped bring our vision to life and made us feel confident every step of the way. We are so grateful we chose Events on Pine for such an important day in our lives. It will always be a place that means so much to us, and we genuinely cannot recommend it enough.

We had the honor of working with Marla for our wedding in July 2024 and we cannot say enough AMAZING things about working with her to make our wedding dreams come true. Hotel Maya was the first venue to respond to our inquiry when we first reached out to venues. When we had our initial site visit, Marla was so thorough with her questions to ensure that the spaces we looked at fit our budget or vision. She advised that the hotel is pet friendly, which we loved since we wanted a venue where our dog could be part of the wedding ceremony. We fell in love with the spaces (Jardin de Palmeras and Miramar Ballroom) and loved that they beautifully showcased Long Beach. To that, Hotel Maya offers wedding packages that include ceremony & reception spaces, wedding cake, day-of coordinator, day-of get ready room, hotel room the night of the wedding, catering, cake cutting knife & server, tables, chairs, utensils, tablecloths, and so much more! We didn’t have to look any further and booked Hotel Maya right away! During the wedding planning process, Marla continued to be the absolute best to work with. I came with a ton of questions, and she always responded quickly and never made we feel like I was a bother. If there was something outside of catering that we need assistance with, she would gladly point us in the right direction or generously help us herself. She gained our trust very quickly through her above & beyond customer service, kindness, and sweet personality. Marla’s work is truly magic. On our wedding weekend, Marla made herself available for any last-minute preparations we needed her help with. On the wedding day, she was there when we needed her, and she was working behind the scenes to ensure our wedding day went smoothly. She made sure to touch base with us once in a while to make sure we were doing all right and just be excited with us. At this point, she’s been such an integral part of our big day, we were definitely sharing our joy with her. Also, we are happy to say that our dog was included in our big day. It’s so sweet to know that he was there with us as well. The hospitality staff at Hotel Maya were kind an attentive, starting with my bridal party in the get ready room and all the way through dinner service by checking if my husband and I needed anything. We also heard a consistent compliment about our bartender from our guests: he was quick! They said even when the line was long, he whipped up drinks in a flurry. Even my father was really impressed! We are so glad our guests were taken care of by all the hotel staff. Thank you, Marla and the Hotel Maya staff, for everything. We are beyond grateful. You’ve made wedding planning less stressful and made our wedding dreams truly come true. Hotel Maya will ALWAYS have a special place in our hearts. Whenever we go eat at Fuego, the hotel restaurant, we will be sure to visit our ceremony space to lovingly reminisce and pay a visit to Marla. We recommend any couple to consider Hotel Maya for their wedding venue as we had such a wonderful experience working with them.

We recently had our wedding at Recreation Park 18 (Big Rec), and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. From the very first time we toured the venue, I loved it immediately. The layout is perfect — having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location made the entire day feel seamless and easy for both us and our guests. Our dogs were able to be a part of the ceremony and that was SO FUN! We also had access to the ceremony space throughout the night, which allowed us to set up lawn games and gave everyone extra space to relax and enjoy themselves. The bridal suite was cute, clean, spacious, and the perfect place to get ready. We opted to have champagne and snack trays in the room, and it was set up beautifully when we arrived. Honestly, it was the little details throughout the entire process that made such a difference. The food was absolutely incredible. Almost every guest we’ve spoken to since the wedding has mentioned how delicious everything was. The staff was equally amazing. Myra and the entire event team were so kind, attentive, and organized. They moved with such a sense of purpose all day, and I always felt like we were in good hands. One thing I especially appreciated was that they made sure my dinner was brought to me right when I actually had a chance to sit down and eat, so it was still hot, and they made sure my water glass stayed full all night long. Small things like that really showed how much they cared and paid attention. We also didn’t hire a wedding coordinator, but between our DJ, Sadie, and Myra, everything flowed so smoothly and completely according to plan. I never felt stressed or confused about what was happening next. I also want to mention how impressed I was with the transition between event directors. We had originally been planning with Tawnya for most of the process, and about a month before the wedding we learned she would be leaving and Sadie would be taking over. From our perspective, the transition could not have gone more smoothly. There was absolutely no lapse in communication or service. Sadie knew every detail and picked up right where Tawnya left off, which made us feel so supported during such an important time. Big Rec gave us such an amazing wedding day and memories we will cherish forever. Everything looked beautiful, the staff was exceptional, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding space with an incredible team behind it.
