I got my start many years ago when I was living back home in Chicago, at a cute little bakery, that I still visit to this day! I went back and forth between working in graphic design to cooking and baking. I started working in the bakery at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center as a part-time line cook in 2013 and in 2015 a became their in-house cake designer. In 2019 I decided to leave my position at the hotel and opened Sugar Flower Cake Design. My passion for photography and weddings began when I was very young. I staged Barbie weddings, making their dresses from Kleenex, then snuck Mom’s camera to take pictures of them. I moved on to dressing up my little sister in a pillowcase veil, again sneaking Mom’s camera. When she got tired of me using up all her film, she brought home several Bride magazines from the free pile at the library and I spent hours reading them, then pinning pages of beautiful wedding dresses on the ceiling of my bedroom. I started doing photography 6 years ago and have been in love with capturing true raw moments during sessions and weddings.
