My name is Kafi Iman Robinson Pettiford, and I'm a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication, with a focus in photojournalism, and an MBA from Pfeiffer University. I truly love my job. I love capturing priceless pieces of time and placing them in frames. I was taught at UNC that a photographer should be able to tell a complete story with a single photo, and that's what I strive to do -- tell the story of that one moment of laughter, that priceless expression and single tear of joy.

Madeleine is a sassy and social eight year old who has the spirit of a poet. We adopted our second daughter, Margot, this year. She's still a baby, but her little personality shines so bright. I'm an accidental photographer. I studied education and psychology at Belmont University, but I picked up a camera in 2012 just as I planned to start graduate school and realized that I wanted pursue something different.
