I'm a wedding photographer who believes in harnessing and capturing genuine emotion- the kind that comes naturally from your relationships. My work is grounded in intentionality and authenticity, and driven by a passion for storytelling. My goal is to capture you as you are — in all your messy, beautiful, candid, show-stopping glory.

I believe that your photos should feel like you. Which is why I invest time and energy into getting to know you as a couple. Not only does this lead to artful and bold photographs, but it makes the whole process of being photographed more relaxed and, most importantly, more fun.     The perfect wedding photographer

    Melissa is an absolutely incredible photographer to work with. She did our engagement photoshoot, our wedding day photoshoot assisted by Chelsea, and she shot some photos at our wedding afterparty. From the very first moment we talked to Melissa, we knew she truly cared about our vision. We live out of state, and she had multiple video chats with us and we texted inspiration photos back and forth for months. She bought special film for our engagement photoshoot just to capture our vision. She could not have done a better job! She was professional, thorough, on time, and went above and beyond at every opportunity. You won't find a more talented or harder working photographer at her price point, and as an added bonus, she's an incredibly sweet person and a real treat to hang out with :)

    The absolute BEST wedding photographer!

    I truly cannot recommend Melissa enough! We clicked instantly during my screening phone call and since the moment we hired her she's gone above and beyond. We were super nervous about having our photos taken for our wedding and she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, which really shows in the finished product. We were initially drawn to Melissa because of her work with film and we're SO happy with the quality of the images and the speed in which we got them all back. She even surprised us on our wedding day with a Super8 style camera to capture video! I would hire her again in an instant!

    From Engagement Photos to Our Wedding Day

    The Photobrief is Amazing!

    Even though her work speaks for itself, we cannot recommend Melissa enough! Her photography is incredible, and she is a joy to work with! We had a great feeling about her after our first phone call, and we were not disappointed. She was so helpful throughout the wedding planning process and was open to answering any questions we might have (even non-photography ones). She is knowledgeable, professional, and kind. We loved getting to know her during our engagement session. The photos turned out so well, which made us even more excited for her to document our big day. On the day of our wedding, she was patient and knew how to calm our nerves and make sure we felt comfortable in front of the camera. We were absolutely blown away when we saw our wedding album. She captured every moment -- even the small looks and glances. We will definitely be using Melissa from the Photobrief for all of our future photography needs!

I include a second shooter in almost every wedding photography package for the benefit of both my clients and myself. Having a second photographer there means more moments captured, makes timeline planning easier, and allows a backup photographer to already be on location in case of an emergency.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors. All of your images will be delivered in a digital personalized gallery format. This gallery will come straight to your inbox and will include both web-sized and high-resolution .jpeg images.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful.
Typically, couples book me anywhere from 4-12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame!
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
