I started as a Justice of the Peace in 1986 and got ordained in 2011. Have been officiating for 39 years. Love meeting the families of my clients. I try to put feelings into the ceremonies when reading them.

From our first conversation, we knew Tom from Sunset Weddings Tri-State was the right choice to officiate our ceremony. Tom was professional and kind throughout the entire planning process, staying attentive to every detail and making our requests his priority. On the day of our wedding, Tom went with the flow when we needed to make last-minute changes and was present for all the little moments that mattered. What really stood out was how he advocated for me when I was stressed—he just knew what I needed. Tom’s care and attention made our ceremony feel truly personal, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We're so grateful for his sweetness and dedication to making our day special.

Most couples who work with me take their relationship seriously, but don't take themselves too seriously. They're educated, do Wordle, read the NY Times and have a healthy sense of reality. Since 2011, I've been writing and performing personal, meaningful and refreshingly engaging ceremonies. Couples work with me in an easy, collaborative way. I take guest experience and your wishes very seriously. I have the ability to command a room, a writer's knack for shaping a story, an emcee's sense of timing, and experience at the most prestigious venues. My BFA in Acting (Boston University) and MFA in Creative Writing (NYU) serve me well.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Chris!! He came super highly recommended by our planner so we felt lucky to be able to book him for our date. From the first meeting, Chris was engaging and fun, yet professional and had a clear process that he explained to us. That process, included questions that dove deep into our relationship and love story and was extremely fun for us to complete. As I look back, his process feels like a super special part of the planning process. Then came wedding day…. Chris was phenomenal!!! The ceremony was so fun and exactly our vibe. He involved our guests the perfect amount and the ceremony felt so special and exactly what we wanted. Multiple guests raved about him, but beyond that, told me they got a chance to talk with him afterwards which I thought was so special that he stayed and engaged with guests. I would rate him more than five stars if I could, book Chris Shelley!!!

When my husband and I started planning our wedding, it was really important to us to find a professional officiant who we could work with leading up to the wedding and trust to make the day as smooth as possible. Chance's "I Do It All" package was everything we wanted and more! Our coaching sessions leading up to the wedding were fun, sentimental, and helped us prepare for married life. When our wedding day came, our guests thought Chance had known us for years based on how personal the ceremony was! Everything went flawlessly, and that's all attributed to Chance. Having a professional, thoughtful officiant is a game-changer on your wedding day. He'll make sure no phones are out, the guests stand & sit when they're supposed to, and hop out of the way for that first kiss picture. He puts so much time and effort into making sure each ceremony is specialized for the couple he's working with - regardless of which package you choose! I cannot recommend Chance highly enough. Work with him for your wedding - I promise it'll be one of the best decisions you make!

My path to becoming a wedding officiant began with curiosity. I've always been fascinated by different faiths, cultures, and traditions, and my love of travel deepened that interest. After studying at Xavier University, I pursued ordination to help couples create ceremonies that honor what matters most to them. Serving the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana tri-state region, I specialize in personalized, interfaith, multicultural, and multilingual ceremonies. As a poet and writer, I also help couples craft heartfelt vows that are memorable, meaningful, and authentically their own.

Leila was absolutely amazing as our wedding officiant. From the beginning, she made the whole process easy and stress-free. She took the time to get to know us and created a ceremony that felt personal, genuine, and completely "us." On the day of the wedding, she brought the perfect mix of professionalism, warmth, and humor. She helped calm our nerves, kept everything flowing smoothly, and made the ceremony feel natural rather than scripted. Our guests loved her, and several people told us afterward how much they enjoyed the ceremony. What really stood out was how much Leila cared about making our day special. She wasn't just there to officiate; she was invested in helping us create a meaningful moment that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We couldn't have asked for a better officiant and would highly recommend Leila to any couple looking for someone who is personable, thoughtful, and easy to work with.

Reverend Karen is more than just an officiant; she's your dedicated cheerleader in crafting a deeply meaningful and personalized wedding ceremony that celebrates your unique love story. With over 20 years of experience, now officiating full-time, Karen specializes in working with couples who desire a heartfelt ceremony outside of a traditional church setting.

From our first conversation with Karen at With This Ring Wedding Ceremonies, we knew we'd made the right choice. She sent us a questionnaire called "love story" and worked those personal details into our ceremony, which made the whole thing feel like it was written just for us. Karen also gave us samples of different vow styles and ring exchanges so we could build the perfect ceremony for us. On the day of our wedding, she had thought through every detail and our guests kept mentioning how special and personal the ceremony felt. Her communication was clear throughout the planning process, and she truly took the time to understand who we are as a couple. We couldn't have asked for a better officiant.

At Charmaine Nicole, we believe every love story deserves a heartfelt, personalized ceremony that reflects your unique journey. As a dedicated wedding officiant and experienced premarital counselor, I am here to help you start this new chapter with meaning, joy, and confidence. From intimate elopements to grand celebrations, I work closely with couples to create a ceremony that honors their values, traditions, and hopes. Additionally, my premarital counseling services provide a strong foundation for your marriage, helping you build communication, understanding, and lasting commitment.

Charmaine is one of my closest friends and was actually a bridesmaid at my wedding because I didn’t want her to have to worry about doing double duty and being present. Unfortunately, the officiant we booked was misinformed about Ohio versus Kentucky marriage licenses and less than 2 weeks before the wedding called me with questions. Charmaine was the consummate professional and signed the correct paperwork during the reception, while in her bridesmaids dress looking beautiful- she can do it all.

Union & Story
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Nashville, TN
  • Offers 6 ceremony types
  • Serves Kentucky for additional fees

At Union & Story, we believe your ceremony should be more than something guests sit through—it should be one of the most memorable parts of your wedding day. We create custom ceremonies that reflect your relationship, values, and unique story. Whether you're planning a Christian, spiritual, or non-religious ceremony, we'll guide you through a thoughtful planning process and craft a ceremony that feels authentic, personal, and unmistakably yours. Our goal is simple: to help you begin your marriage with a ceremony you'll remember for the rest of your lives.

If you're looking for a wedding officiant who will make your ceremony feel personal, meaningful, and unforgettable, we cannot recommend Doug highly enough. We met Doug through our church, and from our very first conversation, we knew he was the right person to marry us… We spent about 30 minutes together talking about what marriage means to us, our relationship, and what this next chapter of life would look like. Doug asked incredibly thoughtful questions that helped him truly get to know us—not just as a couple, but as individuals. It felt natural and completely genuine. Leading up to the wedding, Doug provided a detailed wedding ceremony outline that helped us organize our thoughts, personalize the ceremony, and clearly visualize how everything would flow. It made the planning process so much easier and gave us confidence that our ceremony would truly reflect who we are. On our wedding day, Doug exceeded every expectation. As he shared the story of how Kaitlyn and I met, fell in love, and grew together, it genuinely sounded as though he had been there for every moment he described. He captured our relationship so well that some friends told us afterward they felt like they knew Kaitlyn and me on a deeper level. Doug struck the perfect balance between heartfelt emotion and lighthearted humor. He kept everyone engaged while honoring the significance and sacredness of the commitment we were making. It was incredibly important to us that our ceremony was faith-centered while still feeling personal and authentic. We didn't want it to feel like another wedding ceremony. And honestly, isn't that what every couple wants? An officiant who shares meaningful stories in a way that helps their guests truly know the couple better. It was one of the most memorable parts of our wedding day. Weddings are often stressful for the two people the day is all about. We are so thankful Doug made the ceremony—the most important part of our wedding day—completely stress-free and filled with joy. We truly believe God placed Doug in our lives for this season, and we are incredibly grateful he was the one who married us. If you're searching for an incredible wedding officiant who takes the time to truly know you, creates a beautifully personalized ceremony, and genuinely cares about your marriage—not just your wedding day—you won't find anyone better. Thank you, Doug, for giving us a ceremony we'll look back on with sincere happiness for the rest of our lives.

I’m Amanda, a Kentucky wedding officiant who loves helping couples create ceremonies that feel real, relaxed, and true to who they are. I’ve been officiating weddings for over 3 years and believe your ceremony should feel personal, not stiff or scripted. Whether you’re planning something small and simple or want a ceremony that tells your story, I’ll guide you through the process and handle the details so you can enjoy the moment. My goal is to keep things calm, meaningful, and stress-free while making sure your day feels just right.

We absolutely loved having Amanda as our officiant. We wanted someone who cared about our story, catered to our ceremony wishes, and connected with us. Amanda hit those marks for us and more. She not only met with us and discussed ideas, but she also researched handfasting traditions when we mentioned how we wanted it incorporated into the ceremony. She was such a joy to have at the wedding and even helped calm my nerves before walking down the aisle! We met with a previous officiant who was included in our venue package, but what they provided was a standard sheet with what they say for every wedding ceremony. I am so glad we decided against using them and found Amanda instead, because the whole ceremony was centered around us and our special moments. I truly believe that any wedding she's involved in will add to the magic of your day!
