The Emerald Union is a wedding venue located in Gallatin, Tennessee. Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, this event venue blends romantic glamour with historical architecture. A piece of history… The Cool Springs House has a long and colorful history. In 1830, James and Penelope Barfield Carothers built the original two log rooms of the Cool Springs House located at what is presently the intersection of Mallory Lane and Cool Springs Boulevard. Many years later, the house had major renovations done to it by adding the second story, the downstairs hall, and the front porch. Duck Pond Manor was originally known as the England Mansion. The mansion’s building process began in 1861(according to family stories). The house was finally completed Dec 27, 1867. This 5000 sq ft mansion was built using bricks fired in a kiln right in the farm. The original Apple House still stands behind the mansion.
