The main hall features soaring, arched timber frames surrounded by arched windows and doors that allows the natural sunlight to flow into the room. If an outdoor wedding is your dream, our large arched timber framed gazebo complete with crystal chandelier and up-lighting will be perfect for your ceremony. The bridal suite, complete with hair & makeup room features European decor and stained glass windows. Built for the Richard S. Willis family in 1854. Hodge Podge Lodge was originally called "Melrose" in memory of an estate owned by his ancestors in Scotland. The home started as a four room, story and a half house with a detached kitchen. Throughout the house, one can trace the outline of the original footprint by noticing the wide plank flooring in the parlor, formal dining room and library. During the civil war era the massive lawn, with huge oak and pecan trees, quickly became a favorite place for many young people in town for picnics and family gatherings.
