I like photos with people in them. People are unpredictable. That’s why they’re interesting. And I really enjoy documenting weddings. They're full of emotions and beautiful moments. I'm a music lover. I spent more than a decade living in New York City playing music. All kinds. I’m a good improviser. When I picked up a camera for the first time I quickly felt like making pictures was the thing I should have been doing my whole life. I do a lot of it now. Making photos is a lot like playing music. Assess the situation, react, interact. It’s thinking on your feet.

A little bit about me- I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. My passion to be an artist followed me into my adult years where I studied Photography and Filmmaking at Northern Arizona University. I learned more than I could have ever hoped to in school, not only about all things photography, but also about gaining confidence within my work.. Now, one university degree and a whole lot of picture taking later, I am running my own Photography business in Arizona. Creativity is in my soul and I crave capturing intimate, adventurous, and beautifully simple moments in people's lives.

Located at the heart of the property is a 20 foot soaring iron gazebo perfect for a ceremony backdrop. This unforgettable space hosts weddings, receptions, family reunions, and corporate retreats year around. This space can comfortably host 100 guests. Additionally, Our creekside location can host smaller ceremonies as well as stunning photo sessions. Don Hoel's Cabins also has 20 on-site cabins for guests from studios to 3-bedroom cabins with kitchens.

I am a long time community member and moved to Grand Canyon National Park in 2009. Since then, I’ve worked in and outside the park and am currently a tour guide and hiking guide. I’ve hiked every trail, I love canyoneering and climbed some of the buttes. I’ve been on THE river, the Colorado River that is and row my own boat through the rapids. I am so insanely inspired by this place and I think you can see the passion that I have for it in the photos that I take. I want you to see what I see and feel connected to the place that you propose in. I’m not just looking for an epic backdrop…there is so much more to the moment.

Years later, after we had our son, I found myself at a crossroads. He was just 6 months old, and I wasn’t quite ready to go back to work full-time — but I still wanted something of my own. So I rolled out a freezer and started scooping Thrifty ice cream right inside our family store. It was simple, fun, and full of nostalgia. We had actually dreamed of starting a mobile ice cream business even before then, 14 years ago!

Originally from Orange County, I made the move to the beautiful mountain town of Flagstaff. I have been passionate about makeup since I was young and quickly discovered a natural gift for it. From special events to bridal glam, I truly enjoy pampering my clients and helping them feel their absolute best.
