The value we received was great - the space was warm and welcoming, with fantastic dressing rooms for the bride and groom. Lisa, our event coordinator, was simply the best. She paid attention to every detail prior to and during the event, and the service from the entire staff was second to none. The food was restaurant-quality and the presentation of the meal was truly 5-star. We felt like it was their own wedding with how well they treated us, and the views and use of the golf course for our photos made for a gorgeous backdrop. Lisa was attentive to our every request and last-minute change, and checked in on us throughout the night to ensure everything was perfect. We could not have asked for a better venue and team to host our special day. A truly 5-star event!

The house, known today as Reid Hall, was completed in 1908 and the family moved in on May 5, led by J. Ogden Armour, until approximately September of 1927. It is also reputed that the marble staircase was built with the primary purpose in mind that their daughter, Lolita Ogden Armour, would descend the curving stairway on her wedding day, which she did in 1921, to John J. Mitchell, Jr. Eventually the property was sold to Lake Forest Academy where classes began in 1948. Today, Academy grounds total approximately 170 acres.
