Built in 1845 as a Methodist Church and later purchased and expanded in 1895 by the Masons, this former iconic building in the City of Poughkeepsie has undergone a major transformation to become a one-of-a-kind event space in the Hudson Valley. Ventfort Hall is an imposing Jacobean Revival-style mansion built in 1893 for Sarah Morgan, the sister of JP Morgan. Our space, while very glamorous, is still a work in progress. As such, we only rent the renovated first floor and grounds of the mansion for private events.

Little hidden magical features are everywhere around you, such as carved green man faces and even fluttering stone butterflies. A colossal 20+ foot tall stone fireplace is featured as the centerpiece of the great hall along with charmingly rustic seating at stunning stone-topped cocktail tables and even a comfy couch by the fireside. Our venue holds 80 seats inside and 150 outside. You and your guests will feel like you’ve stepped right into a fairytale!
