Welcome to 223 Main! Located in the Heart of Downtown Lemont’s historical district, just three doors down from the Metra Station, 223 Main boasts a storied origin. Initially built in the 1900s as a double storefront, it transformed throughout the century into a department store, political office, coffee shop, and now an event space. 223 Main is owned and operated by a local Lemont couple, Hector and Lauren Tamayo. Hector grew up in Lemont and always loved the downtown area. At the beginning of 2020, the coffee shop leasing the space decided to close down. While brainstorming what the building could be next, the Covid-19 Pandemic hit. Lauren and Hector decided to cancel their destination wedding and remodel 223 Main. After having their intimate wedding at the building, they decided to officially launch 223 Main and open the space up to the community to enjoy.

The Majestic theatre is one of the largest Vaudeville theatre’s in Chicago-land and oldest in the United States, will re-open in late 2010 as a multi-purpose venue. The theatre featuring a/an full stage, 20-foot screen, art deco grand style second & third floor balconies, and rear walking museum will seat 500. The building was built in 1915 and named the Auditorium Ballroom that hosted many weddings and events. The property was restored in 2017 while keeping its unique historic character.
