Welcome to Tank Town! An old grain elevator evolving in Lockhart, TX. The “Corn Crib” at Tank Town, was built in the 1950s to store drying ears of corn and converted into a grain elevator when flowable grain changed the industry. Built for the Richard S. Willis family in 1854. Hodge Podge Lodge was originally called "Melrose" in memory of an estate owned by his ancestors in Scotland. The home started as a four room, story and a half house with a detached kitchen. Throughout the house, one can trace the outline of the original footprint by noticing the wide plank flooring in the parlor, formal dining room and library. During the civil war era the massive lawn, with huge oak and pecan trees, quickly became a favorite place for many young people in town for picnics and family gatherings. It is on these same grounds that we invite you and your loved ones to celebrate life’s memorable occasions.

Your event just got more sophisticated. When you book with Brandt 1910 you are adding historical style and class to your wedding, party, or private event. Built in 1910 by F.D. Brandt, the "Coca-Cola" building was originally constructed as a general store. Later, the building was split in two to make room for a pharmacy which complimented the nearby local doctor's office which was run by Dr. J.T. Mize, Physician, and Surgeon from 1920 - 1944. The general store, pharmacy, and doctor's office played an integral role in supporting the local commerce that was brought in by the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railroad. In the 1960s the general store was sold and over the years played host to a number of restaurants and an antique store which was owned by Cal Ray Schluter who believed in preserving the old building for future generations. In 2022, Mr. Schluter sold the building to Joshua and Natalie DeJong with the purpose of restoring and preserving the building for its historic beauty.

Hi! M’Kensie here, the younger counterpart of this mother-daughter duo and also just so happen to be much of the story behind how the barn came to be. I was in my final year of college and planning a wedding for the Summer of 2012. I was so very blessed to grow up on our family farm, with a dad who loves to build things and who wanted to make all my Pinterest dreams come true. So as wedding planning began, construction started going up, and PLOT TWIST, the groom and I broke up…..that’s when our family realized God had much bigger plans for the barn. So with a little more time to dream, and much more time for construction, Lone Oak Barn was born. My mom left her teaching job behind, and I joined a few years later, neither of us knowing the community we would gain. Every couple, every family, every vendor, non-profit, and company we’ve hosted has become part of the Lone Oak Family. Our hope is that you’ll come on in, stay awhile, and most importantly, come back and see us.

Built in 1921, the Martindale Schoolhouse is an official Texas Historical Landmark. The feeling of being inside a 100 year-old school building will transport you back in time to experience what a rural school was like over a century ago. The Martindale Schoolhouse is centrally located between Austin and San Antonio and is perfect for weddings, special events, weekend getaways, and outdoor excursions. First, there’s the expansive five-room villa that was once the original school. Carefully curated with art from around the world, the schoolhouse sleeps 14 and has been fully modernized with a large kitchen, multiple seating areas, a great lawn and a covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace.
